Re: BRM Reviews AEW Late Night Dynamite

I guess, but they've reached a point where they have way too many of those and very few jobbers/enhancement talent, and almost all of them are stuck on the Youtube show that only a small fraction of the TV audience is watching.

Re: BRM Reviews AEW Late Night Dynamite

BEN CARTER vs. SCORPIO SKY- 7/10 We couldn’t even get to the end of the second wrestlers’ entrance before Jericho was in full over the top clown mode on commentary. This was a great debut for Carter that gave him instant credibility… but that’s not what AEW needs. They don’t even have room for the ...

Re: Mike Rotunda, Sarah Stock released by WWE

The reality is that MAYBE 5 are necessary. Actually, if I remember Gabe correctly from his first Guest Booker appearance, 90% of the job is pointless. Having someone around who can help with finishing sequences a la the way Johnny Ace or Pat Patterson have been described is helpful, but otherwise, ...

Re: Cero Reviews AEW ALL OUT 2020

I thought it was a bad decision to move the Baker match to the main show, and even so, it was a bad idea to start the show with it, I thought about it and maybe putting that match in between the DO match and the FTR match would had woken me up. That match really shouldn't have happened at all frank...

Re: Cero Reviews AEW ALL OUT 2020

Probably putting the tooth & nail "match" on the main card because the woke Twitter crowd bitched (as usual) about this women's match being on the pre-show and Khan caved.

Re: Cero Reviews AEW ALL OUT 2020

AEW World Tag Team Championship Match F.T.R. (w/Tully Blanchard) vs Kenny Omega & "Hangman" Adam Page (C) - 6/10 I personally found this to be a really boring fantastically wrestled match. I don't know if the previous match was so long that it took me out of it and once this started my head was som...

Re: BRM Reviews the 9/2/2020 Dynamite (terrible)

Someone on 411mania or Scott Keith's blog made a good point about how none of the current programs feels serious and/or like a big main event program. The closest they've got is the whole Elite/Page/Revival stuff, but has been made confusing because the protagonists have mood swings every two second...

Re: BRM Reviews the 8/27/2020 Dynamite (a stark illustration of why they won't succeed)

"Too many cooks" is part of the problem, but it's becoming increasingly clear that the biggest one is two wrestling philosophies clashing and not working at all together. On one hand, you have the Bucks and Omega with the goofy shit, then you have Cody on the other with the more serious rasslin' (an...

Re: BRM Reviews (most of) Saturday Dynamite (bad)

I'm surprised you didn't call this one "The day AEW became TNA 2.0". Anyway, Tully changed allegiance out of nowhere and is now the Revival's manager. Yes, that is an upgrade for all parties involved (except Spears, but who cares about him really?), but this is once again a pairing with no build-up ...

Re: BRM Reviews AEW Deadly Draw Episode 3 (dull)

Brandi might legitimately be the worst thing about AEW, and that's quite the feat considering you have horrors like the Dark Order and Marko Stunt. Everything she does is panned by almost everyone (Nightmare Collective, this, the whole AEW Heels debacle), and yet they'll keep pushing her over and ov...

Re: BRM Reviews the 8/12/2020 AEW (extremely frustrating)

MJF You must forget he is YOUNG. Like, under 25, and he carries himself and speaks the way he does. Sure, he had a little TV practice, but he's carried it over to national networks, you'd be surprised how many guys cannot do this. I didn't forget how young MJF is, I just don't think you can really ...

Re: BRM Reviews the 8/12/2020 AEW (extremely frustrating)

I'd argue that MJF is their "homegrown" star. His biggest gigs to date were things like MLW. This is his first international promotion gig and he's growing in that role. But besides him, you're right. Eh, I see your point, but MJF already had about two years of TV exposure/experience when he came i...

Re: BRM Reviews the 8/12/2020 AEW (extremely frustrating)

That was a nice dumpster fire apparently. I’m starting to think that Thelone was right when he/she/they posited that Archer was brought in with absolutely no plans for him in place past losing to Cody. First of all, I'm a guy, so that's "he". More importantly, Archer isn't the only one in that situa...

Re: AEW releases Jimmy Havoc, Bea Priestley and Sadie Gibbs

How can AEW release people during a pandemic? Don't they have any shame?

That dig out of the way, who cares really? Havoc and Priestley are both awful wrestlers and people, and Gibbs was barely there and never felt like she was part of the roster in the first place.

Re: A Good Write-Up from Wade Keller on Raw Underground

So Vince finally saw Fight Club, huh? Anyway, it's basically just another cinematic thing with an expiration date. Like, what happens when you can finally have crowds back? Does this become another Network-only show and RAW goes back to being the usual three-hour slog, or do they make RAW shorter an...

Re: BRM Reivews the 7/29/2020 Dynamite (a bad show saved by some decent wrestling, but not enough)

Schiavone at least seems to care enough not to detract from the product, unlike Ross who will pretty much bury everything he thinks is ridiculous (which is a lot). Excalibur is grating with the constant TOPE SUICIDA and just yelling every big move in general. Also, didn't they hire that Goldenboy gu...

Re: BRM Reivews the 7/29/2020 Dynamite (a bad show saved by some decent wrestling, but not enough)

Stunt MUST do his stupid spot every single match and act like the most obnoxious asshole in the world. The thing is, if this is all he can bring to the table, JUST DUMP HIS ASS ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND NEVER LOOK BACK. Anyway, let's keep going with this Jericho-Cassidy feud for some ungodly reaso...

Unsurprisingly, he deleted the tweet since then. For all this talk about how the Elite guys are so social media savvy or whatever you wanna call it, they sure are doing a piss poor job ignoring trolls and not answering every single bit of criticism/question.

Re: Cody vs. Warhorse TNT title match announced for AEW Dynamite

I've been out of the indy loop for quite a while, but who the fuck is Warhorse? Is this sh*t going somewhere, or did Cody just make a belt to put it on himself? What? No, don't be silly!!! He totally didn't create a vanity belt or anything, just like he never was world champion (except in ROH and th...

Re: BRM Reviews AEW Fight for the Fallen 2020 (bad)

Cody beat another tomato can with ease and was once again slightly more of a dick than usual. Riveting... As much as I think the Revival is overrated, it isn't that much of a surprise that some of their match-ups in AEW are going to be ugly clash of styles. I'm pretty sure they'll have a better matc...
