BRM Reviews the 6/18/2018 Raw

OPENING SEGMENT- GREAT! We start off with Kurt standing in the ring (which is all gussied up). There is a table in the ring (also gussied up) with the women’s MITB contract and the Raw Women’s Title sitting on it. Kurt first informs us all that he’s so happy that Raw Superstars™ won both contracts. ...

Re: BRM Reviews PWG All-Star Weekend 14: Night 1

Yes, ROH is doing a lot of business now with this shtick, but there is no reason to believe that they couldn't be doing even more business by toning the shtick down at the appropriate times (which, for example, the Young Bucks have been doing a great job of recently) and allowing the matches to be ...

Re: BRM Reviews NXT Takeover: Chicago II (AWESOME!)

STREET FIGHT: Tommaso Ciampa vs. Johnny Gargano- 9/10 Gargano came out to the ring with a broken crutch already in hand, starting this match off the way their previous one finished. Ciampa came out with a non-broke crutch, giving him a major reach advantage. The match was as violent as you would ex...

Re: Participants for this year's NJPW G1 Climax tournament announced

Which is why I'm worried that it won't happen... because the title hasn't been defended at Destruction in years, even when it made perfect sense like when Fale pinned Okada in the G1 and then they had them face off at Destruction in a non-title match where Okada got his win back. there's also optio...

Re: BRM Reviews PWG All-Star Weekend 14: Night 2

But Big Show and Kane have a history of success in WWE. These guys have no history of success in PWG. VU has been building a name around the west coast for a while, so in the sense of how independent companies work, they do have some momentum behind them even if the lost. After losing to Ilja and W...

Re: BRM Reviews the 6/13/2018 Lucha Underground (Season 4 Premiere)

For the "Dario's father is really Dario in disguise" thing to work, Dario would have had to kill )or otherwise restrain (a la Barty Crouch Jr. and Mad-Eye Moody) his father. Also, we'd need to explain whose body was in the casket, because it looked a hell of a lot like Dario. I would say that Dario...

Re: Participants for this year's NJPW G1 Climax tournament announced

No. I mean White vs. Omega. He's been saying he wants a shot at that title since he joined CHAOS, and now that a CHAOS member doesn't have the belt anymore and if he proves he could have beaten Okada, then it makes perfect sense for him to challenge Omega (also, it would get Omega his win back). oh...

Re: BRM Reviews PWG All-Star Weekend 14: Night 1

So then why is Darryl okay? Or Ospreay pretending to be a cat? Or why is it okay for ROH to suddenly shift to being a comedy promotion? arguably, ROH has been doing shitty WWE-light stuff for a while since joining Sinclair, and they used to have comedy long before. Cheeseburger, Redneck Kung Fu, Ho...

Re: BRM Reviews the 6/13/2018 Lucha Underground (Season 4 Premiere)

Never mind. The lighting changing the color of the ropes thing was actually from the ROH/NJPW Toronto show. I totally agree that Mr. Cueto isn't working. Dr. Lucha was hoping that the fact that it's obviously the same actor as Dario, that it would eventually lead to this being all a ruse to get bac...

Re: BRM Reviews WWE Money in the Bank 2018 (GREAT!)

If I'm honest...she's not really that far above the Miz or very different as far as a general assessment. Yes, the characters are very similar, but while Miz's arrogance revolves more around his "I'm a movie star" gimmick, Alexa's is more of a traditional pro wrestling chickensh*t heel arrogance......

Re: Participants for this year's NJPW G1 Climax tournament announced

I agree that White will beat Okada, but I think that, given his story so far, if he does this, he NEEDS to get a title shot, but I'm skeptical they'll spend the KOPW title shot on Jay White, and they haven't had any IWGP Heavyweight Title defenses at either Destruction or Power Struggle in the past...

BRM Reviews ROH/NJPW War of the Worlds Tour 2018: Day 2 (dull)

ROH/NJPW War of the Worlds Tour 2018: Day 2 (5/11/2018)- Toronto, ON IWGP UNITED STATES TITLE MATCH: Jay White(c) vs. Punishment Martinez- 6.75/10 This match went eleven minutes. Re: BRM Reviews the 6/13/2018 Lucha Underground (Season 4 Premiere)

In conclusion, I’m quite worried about Lucha Underground. They’re acting like a desperate promotion and hot-shotting right out of the gate, and like most promotions that do that, they’re forgetting to do the things that made them great in the first place. Almost complete lack of LU’s trademark back...

Re: BRM Reviews PWG All-Star Weekend 14: Night 2

VU are huge dudes. So what? They haven't won yet. They're losers. Big Show and Kane are huge. If Cedric Alexander beat one of them on 205Live with no build up, it be a HUGE thing, no pun intended. But Big Show and Kane have a history of success in WWE. These guys have no history of success in PWG. ...

Re: BRM Reviews PWG All-Star Weekend 14: Night 1

You are entitled to that opinion if you are prepared to accept it in all situations. How do you feel about Braun Strowman Tag Team Partner Nicholas? the Strowman kid is somewhat different because it was out of nowhere, no build up, no consequences, and it devalue the championship. Having said that,...

Re: NWK Reviews NXT Takeover Chicago

The first one was a better match objectively, but I am absolutely in love with symbolic throwbacks to previous events, which is why I loved the sequence which ended in Johnny sending Ciampa through the table. I also loved the finish of Johnny being so angry he slipped up and gave Ciampa the win. Th...

Tanahashi v Okada White WILL defeat Okada (calling it) Ibushi vs Omega Omega vs Sabre Suzuki v White Suzuki v Page there's some good stuff all around. Ibushi vs Okada for the finals I agree that White will beat Okada, but I think that, given his story so far, if he does this, he NEEDS to get a titl...
