Good match. Exceptionally good, in fact. But, for some reason, not quite perfect.Big Red Machine wrote:
Also, while you're watching 90's All Japan stuff, you should check you Williams & Ace vs. Misawa & Akiyama from June 7 1996. I don't think I've ever seen the babyface in peril story told better.

Went back and watched some important/personal favorite AJPW matches (all focused around the "Four Corners" guys), with the intent of actually rating them this time. These are the ones that got a perfect rating. *Mitsuharu Misawa vs. Jumbo Tsuruta - June 8, 1990 *Mitsuharu Misawa, Toshiaki ...

I was so caught up in the match that it took my be surprise, actually. That whole match had me buzzing.Big Red Machine wrote:Really? That's surprising. The ending (i.e. Ziggler stuff) was great but were you that into the Big Show turn?Sassafras wrote:Team Cena vs. Team Authority, Survivor Series 2014

Thanks, guys. Also, I agree with cero. That match became great the second the Wyatts stepped in the ring. By the time it was over, it was one of my top 10 all-time favorites, for sure.
I kinda feel the exact same about Michaels vs. Flair at WrestleMania XXIV.

Re: Your 5 star matches
I pretty much decided to keep the list narrowed down to matches that have taken place in the time since I became a fan. But the Flaj/Steamboat matches were AMAZING. As was the Flair/Funk I Quit match.

Re: Your 5 star matches
I think the edge (no pun intended) that the TLC at SummerSlam 2000 had over the others was that it was the first. They set out o prove something that night and they succeeded. And BRM, seen them all, all GREAT matches, but nothing I'd call perfect.

A lot of things about Meltzer's list pissed me off. So I thought a lot about my own 5-str matches list. And after careful conaideration, here it is. Bret "Hitman" Hart vs. Shawn Michaels - Iron Man Match, WrestleMania 12 Bret "Hitman" Hart vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin - Submission...

I like a ground-based/striking style. What would be the called the "indie" style, I suppose. It's kinda MMA-esque.

Re: RAW Discussion 2/6
With it being the final event before Mania, I'd imagine so. Don't wanna leave that book open, considering they'll have to build to Rock/Cena. Rock hiding in an ambulance perhaps? Or Ryder Nah. I think we'll get a legit ending. Although, I don't see the Ryder scenario as a far cry. Although, bringin...
