They considered their world title to be the rightful lineage of the NWA World Title from the time of the break on. Not being part of the NWA doesn't matter. Actually, given how crappy the current WWE tag team division is (WAY worse than it was when the Dudleys showed up--WWE still cared about tag team wrestling), yes a team like KOW would legitimize the division...
