Re: All Out Post-Show Discussion Thread

The more Adam Page talks, the less likeable he becomes. He somehow manages to come off as both a complete pushover/"just happy to be here" kind of guy and also entitled despite how little he has accomplished during his 14-year career so far.

Re: Two more stars suffer injuries at All Out

Unsafe people? Yeah definitely. Bad luck? Maybe some. You can also add injury-prone guys like Samoa Joe, people over 40 in general who are more vulnerable to injuries, lack of ring practice (a light schedule is nice and all, but wrestling once every month will lead to ring rust and everything that c...

Re: Warner Bros. Discovery would like language on AEW programming ‘toned down’

I just don't believe this whole "Warner execs don't want the Briscoes because of that Twitter comment almost a decade ago". Again, it makes zero sense to sign them for "ROH" if you're still supposedly talking with Discovery/Warner about adding that show on one of their channels (...

Re: BRM Reviews the 8/10/2022 Dynamite (Quake by the Lake)

This was another frustrating episode of Dynamite, despite some great action. The booking is constantly getting in the way of things, and I am continuously baffled by the things they choose to waste time on when there are much bigger fish to fry. Last week Undisputed Era turned on the Young Bucks, a...

Re: BRM Reviews the 7/27/2022 Dynamite (featuring possibly the biggest squandering of a story ever!)

NOW WE’RE GETTING TRIOS TITLES, TOO- Is Tony Khan secretly sleeping with someone who owns a championship belt factory? Excalibur said that these were something that “fans have been clamoring for” since almost the beginning of AEW. Here’s a logic question that I’m sure no one in AEW has considered: ...

Re: Cero Reviews ROH Death Before Dishonor (2022)

In the time between the show and me finishing this review, Gresham quit the ROH/AEW group, and while I won't go into details, I wasn't surprised in the slightest. I had originally written a big piece on what I thought about the Gresham and ROH relationship since Sinclair sold the company, and the n...

Re: BRM reviews the 7/20/2022 Dynamite (Barbed Wire and Bad Decisions Everywhere)

This shark cage stuff was so dumb, and it came out of nowhere. If they actually did this as some sort of cross-promotion for Shark Week, it shows that Tony Khan just doesn’t learn from his past mistakes (Space Jam, Halloween bullsh*t). Weirdly enough, Tiny might be learning from his mistakes here. ...

Re: Several female WWE stars have been frustrated

I agree that they have definitely cooled down with doing it disingenuously, but the fact that that is people's default assumption is WWE's own fault for the way they used to do it and push it so hard. They did go hard on patting themselves on the back and mentioning how "OMG, this is the first...

Re: Several female WWE stars have been frustrated

90% of the time WWE uses women in the main event, it's purely cursory and not at all for genuine reasons. Often its just to say they're doing it. It feels disingenuous. I feel like that was true maybe 2-3 years ago, but nowadays it feels warranted/earned when that happens. Of course I say that duri...

Re: Several female WWE stars have been frustrated

Ah yes, the good ol' "all-time low morale" from the usual fed badders. Most of the women on RAW are used in some capacity, whether it's the main storyline (Lynch, Belair, Asuka, Ripley before the concussion, Carmella lately) or as 24/7 fodder (Carmella again, Brooke, Nikki ASH, Doudrop, Ta...

Re: WWE to drop PG rating for Raw starting Monday

Yeah, I don’t really see WWE suddenly allowing blood and cursing after all this time. So for me, I feel it’ll be very little change Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. *looks at the Dub as usual* I mean, it's always been silly to have two guys/gals in a heated rivalry call th...

Re: AEW Rampage viewership and key demo rating drops

Because Rampage is terrible. It’s like they’ve given up trying to make the show a success. It’s worse than dynamite, then dark is worse than Rampage and then Dark Elevation is just an irrelevance. Tiny gave up on Rampage pretty quickly. Punk stopped appearing after that one time they ""&q...

Re: New potential ROH Logo

I'm sure the reason is that Tony is so busy with other things... and that right there should be a warning sign to him that if this thing is going to have a chance in hell of being anything worthwhile he needs to hire someone else to take care of it (ideally someone whose name rhymes with Sabe Gapol...

Re: New potential ROH Logo

The difference is that Tony has respect and affection for what ROH was. With ECW, Vince was just trying to make a quick buck off the name. In a way he does, and he proved it by grossly overpaying for something that was worth maybe 5M. In a more cynical way, Khan loved it so much that he lost whatev...

Re: New potential ROH Logo

In the case of ROH, "desperately trying to recapture the past" would be quite nice. If ROH was still an independant promotion, I would agree with you and not care that much about the """new""" logo (still sends the wrong message of clinging to the past though...

I'll take it It's better than that soulless monstrosity from the OP for sure, but this screams "we're desperately trying to recapture the past". I did a quick GIS just to be sure I wasn't going crazy with my analogy, stumbled upon what was apparently a contest page to choose the Sinclair-...

Re: Viewership for AEW Dynamite takes significant hit over prior week

Man, this Forbidden Door stuff sure is a channel game-changer alright. I've always wondered how latching on to NJPW for years hurt ROH in the long run, which was almost impossible to quantify for television since ROH TV aired on 30.000 different channels during graveyard hours, but that drop there i...
