MLW Fusion EP 4: Filthy Fighting
May 11, 2018
Orlando, FL

"Filthy" Tom Lawlor w/Team Filthy vs ACH - 7.5/10
Pretty cool match, it really did a good job at making seem Lawlor as both a heel that takes cheap shots, but a lethal fighter that if he catches you, he doesn't need the cheap shot to finish you off. ACH was the same ACH as usual, great performance, but always selling. Match was really submission heavy, Lawlor had several near falls via submission, but he just couldn't put ACH out, so he started getting frustrated. Towards the end, as frustration is reaching the limit, Simon Gotch distracted ACH, allowing Lawlor to hit ACH with his newly re-enforced left forearm and locks in a sleeper for the submission win. Great match.

Shane Strickland confronts Salina de la Renta - Strickland is confronting de la Renta about the altar from last week. Pentagon sprays Red Mist all over Strickland as a warning shot.

Fred Yehi vs Maxwell J. Friedman - 8/10
At first it seemed like Yehi was going to manhandle MJF easily, but Friedman held his own. Yehi got his left elbow hurt early in the match, so MJF focused on that arm when working over Yehi. Most of the first half of the match was Friedman on top, but Yehi made his comeback, with really impressive offense for his debut here. Finish saw MJF poke Yehi's eyes, hit a footstomp on his injured arm, and roll him up, pulling the tights for the pin. Really fun match.

Post-match - MJF got interviewed on the ramp, where he introduced himself. He said that he understands that everyone booes him because everyone is jealous of him. But he's jealous of them for not having to deal with a sub-par limo driver or a Perfect 10's attitude at home.

Sami Callihan Interview - He got asked about last weeks' match. He said he is creating an army of like minded individuals. He didn't introduce his new muscle.

It was announced that Pentagon is being punished for attacking Stickland, and so next week he defends his title shot against Rey Fenix.

"Bad Boy" Joey Janela w/Aria Blake vs Jimmy Havoc - 6.5/10
They immediately started brawling outside the ring with some chair spots. Back in the ring, Havoc brought out a door from under the ring, Rich asked "why is there a door under the ring!?", to which Tony obviously answered, "isn't there always a door under the ring?".

At one point, Havoc went for the chair monkey flip, but the chair gave in and Havoc just fell, the botch looked kinda bad. Janela kinda saved it hitting a Senton on top of Havoc on a chair and brought out a table to distract the fans I guess. Janela got a near fall from a Package Piledriver on to a bunch of chairs. Finish saw Janela go for a senton on the table, but Havoc got out of the way, and Janela crashed. Havoc hit a shotgun kick, throwing Janela through the door, hit a DVD onto the pile of chairs, and an Acid Rainmaker to finally pin him. Seemed like overkill, but at least all props got used at he end. Short weapons match, arguably the weakest match of the show, but good for what it was.

Post-match - Havoc is getting out of the venue, when he opens the door, he accidentally pushes Tom Lawlor, provoking Team Filthy to beat him up and leave him for dead.

OVERALL THOUGHTS
A strong show inside the ring, plus a lot of storyline developments between some of the top wrestlers of MLW.
