Thelone reviews OVW TV Episode 1132

Post by Thelone » Apr 26th, '21, 14:09

Well last week wasn't the go home show, so here it is.

Recap of what happened last week between Godderz/Gunn and Luscious/Haley J.

War Hoss (Crosshairs Kelly & Pat the Bruiser) vs. The Tate Twins (Brendon & Brent) - **
The twins mostly did moves while the big dudes felt more like bumbling idiots than any kind of threat. The announcers are still going on about how the twins are more aggressive. Maybe they'll turn heel at some point, but they haven't done anything evil yet.

Ashcraft and Flo are coming out of Snow's office and have a plan to unmask Captain Carribean so he can be suspended for sixty days instead of thirty and will have to vacate the belt.

"The Good Word" with Reverend Ronnie Roberts - Fine
His guest this week is Shera. Roberts mostly makes fun of Shera's English like he doesn't understand what he's saying, Shera is having none of it and is ready to beat up Roberts until Coffey attacks him from behind. They go at it until referees and some wrestlers come out to separate them.

Flo and Ashcraft are still backstage looking for Captain. They find someone in Captain's mask and beat him up but when they remove the mask, there's... another mask and it's clearly not Captain. They throw a bunch of bills at the guy and keep looking.

Gustavo vs. Hy-Zaya (w/ Josh Ashcraft) - **1/2
Hy-Zaya is the Rush champion (the cruiser/flippy belt around here) and in the same group as Ashcraft and Flo (Legacy of Brutality). It was fine, Zaya won clean.

Backstage with Luscious and Haley J. He hypes up his fight with Godderz, but Haley is busy on the phone and Luscious stops to ask her what's happening. She says that she has an audition on the 24th and Luscious remarks that it's the same day as the special. Haley says that he's got this and he's a big dog, then they both leave.

There they come to do commentary for...

Jessie Godderz (w/ Shannon the Dude) vs. Jared Kripke & KTD - erm...
It's an open workout, which means Godderz is doing some mat wrestling exhibition with those two guys and dominating them. Jessie goads Luscious into replacing the two and he accepts. Luscious now gets the better of Godderz, so he gets angry and kicks him in the gut. Anyway, Lawrence hits him with his ass attack finisher and gets the three?

Post... whatever this is, Gunn tries to hit Luscious with his tag belt and misses, and they stare at each other from a distance. That felt unnecessary and last week's angle was way more effective.

Flo is attacking another guy in a Captain mask and Ashcraft tells him that it's clearly not Amir. More bills are thrown, Cash is still mad and will find Captain no matter what it takes.

Lilith Grimm vs. Arie Alexander - **
Very quickly, it's obvious the match isn't too important and the focus is more on Shannon the Dude being a sexist pig on commentary. Alexander wins a fairly short match.

Post-match, Alexander takes the microphone and is pissed at Shannon for being an ass to her and challenges him to a match at the special. He accepts and tells her to also bring him a sandwich on saturday. That came out of nowhere, but sure why not.

Ashcraft and Flo come out and he's beyond himself. He wants Captain Carribean and Omar Amir to come out now, or else he'll destroy everything in the building. Captain appears on the SnowTron and is making fun of Flo while also telling him to calm down. Of course that makes him even madder, and Captain doesn't know what to do besides bringing Amir with him, so here he comes. He's glad to be back and can't say he's too surprised that Flo can't differentiate two guys from the Carribean because he's a moron, EXCELLENT. Once again this enrages Cash who wants Amir in the ring now and to cut the feed. Captain comes out from behind and attacks Flo (who ripped his pants big time by the way), but he's quickly back in control and going for the mask. Oh gasp, it's Omar Amir behind the mask. Both Flo and Ashcraft are yelling for Snow to come out here and do something about this situation, but Amir attacks Flo and gets him out of the ring. They have a staredown while the announcers are wondering what this means for the match at the not-PPV.

Besides this segment, last week was a better go home show despite, well, not being the actual go home show.
