ROH Best In The World 2014 Review:
6 Man Mayhem Match for a shot at the ROH World TV Title ACH vs Watanabe vs Tomasso Ciampa vs Caprice Coleman vs TD Thomas vs BJ Whitmer: ***1/4 Great opener fast paced with some awesome dives and top rope moves thrown in this match was very good and if I was a new viewer this would make me even more interested in the company
Post match: BJ Whitmer gets into a shoving match with Corino and needs to be broken up by security outside the ring while inside the ring Ciampa and ACH shake hands and Ciampa looks pissed he lost
ROH TV Title Match with Truth Martini handcuffed at ringside Jay Lethal vs Matt Taven: *** The rating may be a little high but I enjoyed the story of Taven wanting to murder Truth but Lethal or Seleyzia stopping him also I always enjoy a new way of screwing someone over without actually screwing them over
Submission Match Roderick Strong vs Cedric Alexander: ***3/4 Great match this match definitely elevated Cedric in ROH being able to beat Roderick in a match where he was at a complete disadvantage with Roddy's own submission
Briscoe Brothers( jay And Mark) vs Matt Hardy and Michael Bennett: ***1/2 The match was slow for the 1st few minutes until Hardy got DQed by using his belt to which the fans chanted BS and Jay asked Nigel to restart the match so Nigel restarted it under NO DQ rules and then this match went crazy lots of dives to the outside a few chair and ladder spots and 2 crazy table spots (a Froggy Bow from Mark off the top rope to the outside onto Bennett and a Superplex off a 15 foot Ladder thru a table from Jay to Hardy) all while keeping the feeling of hatred this match is a win
Larry Mercer interviews Moose: Moose is apparently a former NFL player and now the newest signee to ROH he basically says he wants to be treated like all the other young guys in ROH then Veda Scott comes out puts over the #NewStreak of RD Evans and says she can make Moose a star like RD Evans is Moose says he just wants to watch the show but he'll be willing to talk afterwards- not really that interesting but I love the NewStreak so it wasn't horrible
Silas Young vs Kevin Steen: ***1/4 Good match Silas got to look impressive against Steen and they both had a fun match not as good as I was expecting but hey it's still a great match
Post Match: Steen says he doesn't have much time left in ROH before his contract is up and he's happy he faced Silas before he left and Silas shakes his hand and leaves to which the fans chant PLEASE DON'T GO! and Steen jokes "He has to go I'm not done yet" and is about to thank the fans but he can't because Silas Young clips him from behind and attacks him looks like this feud will keep going which I'm fine with
ROH World Tag Team Title Match Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian vs reDRagon (Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish): **** This was awesome reDRagon told a great story working over Kazarians arm while Daniels and Kazarian put on what I feel is there best performance as a team ever
ROH World Title Match Michael Elgin vs Adam Cole: ****1/2 THIS WAS AWESOME!!! The match told a story of Elgin wanting revenge for what Cole did to him but realizing the best way to hurt him was not to kill him but take the belt from him and when Cole realized that he had Hardy and Bennett come out and help and Elgin held them off until the numbers game caught up to him at which point his friends Hanson and Rowe came out to even the odds and MsChif took out Maria with the mist and it was back to 1 on 1 shortly afterwards Elgin hit his finisher and Cole kicked out the fans thought it was 3 and threw Streamers prematurely to which they chanted WE F**KED UP! WE F**KED UP! That was awesome and it finally ended with Elgin finally winning the ROH World Title and getting a standing ovation and giant streamer and confetti shower
Overall Rating: 9.5/10 This show was 1 of the best I've ever seen probably in the top 10 ROH shows of all time you had great matches like Cedric vs Roddy Elgin vs Cole Bad Influence vs reDRagon big moments like Elgin finally winning the belt Daniels ROH return and Kazarians main show debut and no match under 3 stars this show is worth going out of your way to see

i hated the surprise from the announce table to Roddy not shaking Cedric's hand, it's supposed to be a match about respect, and Cedric (the babyface) goes and makes Roddy tap with his own move, of course Roddy was pissed off! I wouldn't shake the hand of a man that steals my moves.Bulletclubfan2014 wrote:

I think they were being a bit naive, assuming that this was the blow-off and that by coming back from a tough injury and winning, Cedric would earn the Decade's respect. I wasn't a fan of it, but it didn't bother me that much.cero2k wrote:i hated the surprise from the announce table to Roddy not shaking Cedric's hand, it's supposed to be a match about respect, and Cedric (the babyface) goes and makes Roddy tap with his own move, of course Roddy was pissed off!
