ROH Tag Team Turmoil 2011 (7/8/2011)- Richmond, VA

OPENING SEGMENT- needless hype for the Wolves vs. House of Truth match, and I really didn't like Davey joking about the possibility of Elgin using steroids. It was a line that didn't need to be crossed. Yes, they needed to do the traditional interview segment to open the first show after winning the belt with Davey, but I think it would have been better to keep things simple and just have Davey put Eddie over and talk about defending the belt with honor.

SHANE HAGADORN PROMO- okay

ROH CONTENDERS TAG TEAM LOTTERY TOURNAMENT MATCH #1: Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander vs. Future Shock (Adam Cole & Kyle O'Reilly- 6.5/10
Fun and fast-paced, like an opener should be.

ROH CONTENDERS TAG TEAM LOTTERY TOURNAMENT MATCH #2: The Briscoes vs. The Bravado Brothers- 4.25/10

"THE PRODIGY" MIKE BENNETT vs. KENNY KING- 5/10
WAIT... WHAT? Bennett got the pin with a handful of tights, but Rhett came out and told Sinclair about it so Sinclair reversed the decision just because Rhett and the fans say Bennett cheated? Never mind the inherent problem in a ref calling something that he himself didn't actually see... but why not just restart the match? It's not like Bennett used a weapon or something. I don't think I have ever seen tights-grabbing result in a disqualification before.

Anyway, Bennett then hit Rhett, so Cornette came out and told Bennett that if he didn't wrestle Rhett later on tonight, he would be suspended. The way this all came together made things seem really unfair for Bennett, like the babyface authority figures were selectively enforcing the rules just to screw him.

ROH WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Wrestling's Great Tag Team(c) vs. Colt Cabana & El Generico- 6.25/10

ROH CONTENDERS TAG TEAM LOTTERY TOURNAMENT FINALS- 6/10
Extremely disappointing for a tournament finals. I can't believe that they didn't even give these guys ten minutes!

"THE PRODIGY" MIKE BENNETT vs. RHETT TITUS- 5.75/10

ADAM COLE & KYLE O'REILLY PROMO- good

THE AMERICAN WOLVES vs. THE HOUSE OF TRUTH (Michael Elgin & Roderick Strong) (w/Truth Martini)- 9/10
A show-savingly awesome match. Just awesome action here, and Elgin came out of it looking like he could hang with the big boys.

DAVEY RICHARDS PROMO- good... aside from Davey's wolf-howl. That was just awkward.

Overall, a good show from ROH, but entirely on the strength of the main event.
