NXT may soon be headed to cable television.
During today’s episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer brought up that he had gotten word that NXT may be moving to the USA Network. According to Meltzer, there has been talk of NXT either moving to FS1 or USA, with the latter being the current candidate. An announcement regarding NXT’s future is expected to be made soon.
Meltzer and Garrett Gonzales went into further detail about what this would mean for future NXT television tapings. Meltzer mentioned that the plan is for the show to be two hours, airing head-to-head with AEW’s television series on TNT on Wednesdays every week. The premiere date for NXT on USA could also come before October 2, which is when AEW debuts on TNT.
Meltzer noted that there would be a live component to NXT on USA, though whether it would be live every week or every other week have both been discussed.

Re: Dave Meltzer talks possibility of NXT to USA Network
today Alvarez had the perfect line "everything that WWE does has something to do with AEW". it's seriously only a war because WWE is making it one.
Re: Dave Meltzer talks possibility of NXT to USA Network
Is WWE making it one, or are reporters making it one so their newz is more interesting?
Triple H said himself, NXT has always been on Wednesdays...
Re: Dave Meltzer talks possibility of NXT to USA Network
no, WWE is MOST DEFINITELY being reactionary to AEW and other promotions, and this isn't me being anti-wwe, it's all there in the open. Running Takeover during ALL OUT and New Japan's show. debuting NXT on USA likely the same day that AEW on TNT premiers.
Re: Dave Meltzer talks possibility of NXT to USA Network
Right, definitely reactionary measures as any business would do, but a "war"? The journalists are the only ones calling it that, and they also have the most to gain from it. It's not a "war" when the entire industry follows WWE to whatever city is hosting Wrestlemania and runs their shows... CAN YOU BELIEVE VINCE IS RUNNING HIS HALL OF FAME CEREMONY AGAINST ROB BORTTLE'S BLOODBATH 4? WHAT AN ASSHOLE! IT'S WAR!!!!
It's not like Smackdown is moving to Wednesday. They've been talking about moving NXT to Network Television since talks with Fox started, just like they'd been talking about putting Evolve and sister promotions on The Network forever. The timing of these events is awfully convenient, but it's not like they're doing anything they weren't already doing. The Meltzer Mafia will play this up like Vince is trying to put them out of business to sell that newsletter, but c'mon...

It's Vince McMahon, everything is a war to him, he has no other mode. Surely thing have always been talked about, but the timing isn't convenient, it's just reactionary. Nxt uk is the perfect example, it was reactionary to WOS and it showed, they only cared about it when WOS made noise and now all of the sudden that New Japan is having a show there.Bob-O wrote: ↑Aug 17th, '19, 08:34

It's Vince's war, not hunter's, not Fox's. It's all in Vince's head
