After the match was set up at Triplemania XXVII, Lucha Libre AAA has set a date for Fenix vs. Kenny Omega.

Fenix will defend his AAA Mega Championship against Omega at AAA Heroes Inmortales on Saturday, October 19. The show is taking place at Coliseo La Concordia in Orizaba, Veracruz, Mexico and will air live on Twitch. English and Spanish commentary will both be available.

Pentagon Jr., Fenix & Laredo Kid defeated Omega & The Young Bucks at Triplemania last month. After the match, Omega issued a challenge to Fenix and said he wanted Fenix's Mega title. After Fenix accepted, Omega said he'll prove why AEW is better than AAA.

A partnership between AEW and AAA was announced this February.

Omega and Fenix have had one singles match against each other before, with Omega defeating Fenix at a show for Northeast Wrestling in 2018.
