Alexander Wolfe was injured during tonight’s Worlds Collide main event.

The injury took place in the main event match between Imperium and the Undisputed Era. Wolfe was down on his knees as Bobby Fish and Roderick Strong were going for stereo knee strikes to the chest and back. It was here that Fish’s knee connected with Wolfe’s jaw.

Fish then went for the pin, but Wofle didn’t kick out. Referee Drake Wuertz stopped the match momentarily and threw up the “X” signal that someone was injured. Fish was taken to his corner as the announcers showed a replay.

Wolfe was then taken out of the match and escorted backstage. The match then continued as a 4 on 3 match. After a back and forth brawl, Imperium were eventually able to get the win after WALTER powerbombed Fish as everyone else was fighting on the outside.

The rest of the Imperium celebrated as the show ended, with Wolfe never coming back out.

Fish should've noticed and either not made the cover, or at least done something to save the situation... because there is no way the referee should stop counting...

I didn't see the match and don't know how it looked, but FIsh breaking up the pin and Wolfe staying there laying dead could had also looked really bad. If the X was thrown immediately on screen, then there's no hiding it either way. It may actually be easier for the ref to pretend the shoulder is not on the mat or that suddenly someone isn't the legal man

My understanding from watching the match and hearing people talk is that they didn't realize he was actually knocked out until he didn't kick out he was supposed to, at which point Drake quickly stopped the count as if he had gotten his shoulder up and Nigel on commentary covered by claiming that Fish had accidentally pulled Wolfe's shoulder up in an attempt to get a deeper cover.

Nigel is very good at those kinds of things on commentary.

Fish did look genuinely concerned to me though.
