The first RAW of the new year and what a way to start it. As announced a few hours ago, via Lordsofpain.net, Miz/Morrison Falls Count Anywhere for the WWE Championship will be the first match of the night. I'm excited for it, for some reason i feel like Morrison could win. I know he likely won't because of Cole & Riley but i'm gonna be optimistic tonight.

After get injured last week at a Live Event, i'm curious to see what they'll do with Cena. Even if its just a war of words with Punk right now, it'll be awesome because Punk can be a many of words with the best of them.

Results:
The Miz w/Alex Riley defeated John Morrison to retain the WWE Championship.
-Miz pinned Morrison after the Skull Crushing Finale.
-This was a Falls Count Anywhere Match.

Eve, Natalya & Brie Bella defeated Alicia Fox, Melina & Maryse.
-Eve pinned Melina after a Swinging Neck breaker.

The Usos defeated Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov w/Tamina.

Alberto Del Rio defeated R-Truth.
-Del Rio forced R-Truth to submit to the Cross Armbar.

Randy Orton defeated Wade Barrett & Sheamus in a Triple Threat Steel Cage Match.
-Orton walked out the door.
-Orton will face The Miz at the Royal Rumble for the WWE Championship.

Cole says Cena won't be here tonight.

We get a recap of Punk joining Nexus from last week.

Cole tells us that Cena won't be around tonight due to what happened last week on RAW and also during a match with Barrett at a Live Event a few days later.

Miz/Morrison is right now.

Miz goes after Morrison immediately and Morrison was ready for that.

Basically its Morrison vs Miz & Riley.

Morrison in control. He climbs onto of the huge WWE symbol by the entrance ramp and hits a double cross body and doesnt get the 3 count

Morrison unloads on Riley on the outside of the ring after Riley pulled Morrison out of a pinfall.

Miz looks scared now.

I wish they would shut up about this parkour crap. He really isn't doing anything at impressive or that different.

Anyone get the feeling Cole will interfere and cost Morrison the title?

I gotta admit: this was a GREAT match. Now I'll believe Miz ain't THAT bad. Still shouldn't have that belt, tho....

I think is the reaction they are going for. It is like last year with the Piggie James angle, where they used the real-wrld criticisms of WWE and its wrestlers to put heat on a chosen heel. They are going for semi-kayfabe heat from the fans to create an atmosphere where people want to see the heel champ lose the belt.
