We're Back! Wrestling Theme Tournament #3 - Indies and Unconventional

What I've done is compiled some epic themes that were never intended to be used as such, something that is so great about Indie Wrestling. Songs that were heard first on the radio, then used by a wrestler (except Victoria's, who's theme caught the mainstream after she used it). These themes are set to do battle to decide which is the greatest... of ALL TIME! Here's the Bracket:

May the voting begin! We'll shut 'er down next weekend sometime. Now, I'm not as in touch with the independent scene as many (most) of you. If you find yourself saying, "But BAAH-Bo... where's my favorite wrestler's epic unconventional theme music!? It would have tore this thing down bro!", I ask that you post it down there and I'll consider it for next time I decide to do it. I had a hard enough time settling on these 8!

Tommy Dreamer got his ass kicked a lot. Pretty much every time he came through the curtain. He had some moments, but in reality, he put the heels over and was the poor man's Sandman after WCW bought him. But when Man In The Box hit, I marked. EVERY time. "Aaaaaaawe shit..." I'd say, "Raven's gonna die... Tommy is going to slit his throat..." - and he never ever did, it was always Even Flows to Dreamer and Beaulah then he'd yell at Stevie Richards for being stupid. I think Tommy even put over Tracy Smothers at one point, and I STILL marked the next week when that music hit.

The Semi-Finals are upon us, the dreaded Round 2! There's actually some competition this time around, as every 1st Round bout was decided in a landslide. No shutouts, however, even Mama Said Knock You Out got some love (not from me either!). The updated bracket is below, may the voting begin!

The People have spoken! No surprises, as the heavy favorite Sandman took out America's Favorite Underdog Brian Danielson 4 votes to 2. I'm a little shocked by the results of the other semi-final contest, as CM Punk Pipebombed my personal favorite Tommy Dreamer 6 to 3! The updated bracket is down there, let's kick off the finals!

That's pretty much how I think of it too.

It was a difficult decision for sure. But I think you all hit the nail on the head.

Cult of Personality is a great THEME, while Enter Sandman is an epic SONG used as a theme. It just starts out too slow for somebody to come through the curtain chugging a beer. And, don't get me wrong here, Sandman's entrances were epic! I've got fond memories of him sitting atop a ladder, cane in hand, chugging back a beer while a thousand people sang along, but it's about the "hit". When Cult of Personality hits I get chills.

In an upset, Cult of Personality tops Enter Sandman 5 to 3! CM Punk takes it! Good game, folks.

One has to wonder if WWE personal were possibly browsing our forums and noticed what the people wanted to see when they booked Living Colour at Wrestlemania this year... ...One has to wonder... :p

However, Sunday night's performance of the song do not compare to the fires these guys set in the late 80's. Corey Glover is absolutely timeless, however I don't recall who's on bass, but he's rocking Jerry Curl AND a fade. Long live the 80's!
