STARDOM 5★STAR Grand Prix 2021, Day 3
August 7, 2021
EDION Arena Osaka #2, Osaka, Japan

Starlight Kid vs. Mina Shirakawa vs. Hina - 6.5/10
Match was mostly to build SLK versus Shirakawa for later on, and they were so focused on each other, that Hina was able to sneak in and get some offense on both of them. They eventually took her out again and got more one-on-one build up until the end that Hina returned for some near falls before losing to Shirakawa's Glamorous Collection Mina pin.

This got me excited for the SLK vs Shirakawa match, it has potential to be a good high speed match. They have similar sizes and at least in this match, Shirakawa kept up with SLK's speed.

Queen's Quest (Momo Watanabe & Saya Kamitani) vs. Oedo Tai (Konami & Rina) - 6.5/10
This was kinda weird, it's building Kamitani and Konami for a block match, but ended up doing a lot more Kamitani vs Rina so that Kamitani could look strong AFTER they had already showed Konami getting heat over Kamitani, heat she never got revenge for. At the end I was more invested in Kamitani versus Rina. Saya won with a Star Crusher.

STARS (Hanan, Koguma & Mayu Iwatani) vs. Donna del Mondo (Maika & Natsupoi) & Lady C - 5/10
This built Mayu versus Natsupoi and it was great, I started to feel bad for Natsupoi because of the slaps that Mayu was landing on her, my mind just thought "what a dick!" for how stiff they sounded. Their pair up was short as was Mayu versus Maika that are in different blocks, but I wouldn't mind seeing.

The match really came down to Koguma and Lady C, they probably had most of the in-ring time, ending with Koguma getting the win with a bridging German.

5STAR Grand Prix 2021 Blue Block Match
Tam Nakano [2] vs. Ruaka [0] - 6.5/10
Nakano has wrestled Sayaka and Konami so far, and it was Ruaka that got the most head on her, she focused on her arm and and rarely let go sans a couple of comeback spots. Eventually, she a proper comeback with a bunch of kicks, one of them into Ruaka's suitcase into the face, and then she got the win with a Violet Shooting.

5STAR Grand Prix 2021 Red Block Match
Saki Kashima [0] vs. Giulia [2] - 7/10
It happened with SLK and now with Kashima, it's becoming their biggest error to mess around with Giulia's hair and get all cocky on her, because Giulia then gets pissed off and beats the shit out of them. So slightly more back and forth than the previous match, but it was also Kashima working over Giulia for a while, the Giulia made a comeback and went after Kashima's neck, and in the last couple of minutes, they traded near falls, mostly with pin reversals since we know Kashima's superpower right now is her roll up that has taken many down. Giulia finally signaled that she was ending this, but the now beat up Kashima reacted, got her in the Kishikaisei pin and picked up the win. That's two loses for Giulia already.

5STAR Grand Prix 2021 Blue Block Match
Utami Hayashishita [2] vs. Unagi Sayaka [4] - 7.5/10
Hayashishita was being a dick to Sayaka who only wanted to shake her hands, to the point that Sayaka cornered her in case Hayashishita had missed her, and still nothing. Obviously the levels were are astronomically different, but Sayaka is ni a bit of a roll and can take A LOT of punishment, she already defeated the White Belt champion is she tried to do the same with the Red Belt champion here.

Match was mostly Hayashishita working over Sayaka, but as time went on, Sayaka started to get more and more offense in, it wasn't really keeping down Hayashishita, but as we saw with her other two matches in the tournament, sometimes it takes one single strike to get her opponents off their game and she can capitalize, and that seemed to be happening here, she hit blocked Hayashishita's top rope move, and with that, she followed with the corner codebreaker, the Gory Special, but when she would had gone for the finish, Hayashishita woke up. Sayaka had one final flurry with a 2.99 European Clutch, but Hayashishita kicked out, hit a German, bridged it, and got the win.

Post-match - Hayashishita cut a promo celebrating that she broke Unagi's streak, she told her she is getting better and better and looked forward to their next match. She finished saying that she is starting her own streak with this second win.

5STAR Grand Prix 2021 Blue Block Match
Syuri [4] vs. AZM [0] - 8.5/10
Freaking great match. Syuri is out there trying to snatch up the Wrestler of the Year award from Shingo Takagi, and what a better dance partner than AZM, who has become such an amazing wrestler.

Nothing tricky about this match, they went back and forth from the get go, AZM was her usual cocky self that tricks her opponents into going after her, so she can catch them by surprise, at which point, AZM was just running circles around Syuri. Eventually, Syuri caught up and went into ass kicking mode once she got her hands on AZM. Last couple of minutes we saw AZM just go all out, doing everything she could on Syuri, foot stompts, went for the arm, and at the end, she got her with a Destroyer and the Azumi Sushi for the win.

Finish I'd argue was the only thing that didn't look so good. AZM got in Destroyer position, but Syuri lifted her before actually throwing herself over, so it kinda looked like Yoshi-Tonic into a Destroyer.

Post-match - AZM celebrated defeating Syuri in her second ever GP. She told Syuri that she will become even stronger so that Syuri can call her rival. She said that Blue Block is super packed, but that it will be AZM Paisen, the youngest in the block, to win it all. AZM closed the show in Queen's Quest style.
