TJPW Universe Members Show - Pure Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling 6
March 6, 2022
Itabashi Green Hall, Tokyo, Japan

Pom Harajuku, dressed as Namba, is today's MC.

Cooking Match
Yuka Sakazaki vs. Arisu Endo - Fun/10!
This wasn't like any normal Cooking match, Sakazaki and Endo had to compete for the ingredients prior to the match in a series of contests. Musical chair, musical trivia, and blind food tasting.

When it was time for the referee to taste the dishes Sakazakia and Endo prepared, referee wasn't convinced by Sakazaki's noodles, so he voted for Endo's egg dish instead. Endo has defeated Sakazaki.

Banned Move Lost Point System Tag Team Match
Miu Watanabe & Moka Miyamoto vs. 121000000 (Maki Ito & Miyu Yamashita) - 6/10, but quite unique.
Stipulation is that every wrestler had notes of the moves their opponents had banned, if the wrestler uses a move, they lose points for their team. Yamashita had he kicks banned, Itoh couldn't do DDTs, Watanabe couldn't lift anyone, and Miyamoto couldn't punch. The moves were so basic that if obviously made a big deal, especially with Yamashita and Watanabe.

Story of the match was just seeing them try to avoid using their banned moves and then accidentally using them and getting points deducted until Yamashita and Itoh just got in the zone and accidentally lost 3 points on one spot where Yamashita hit a double kick and Itoh dropped Miu with a DDT.

I would LOVE to see this stipulation with more serious wrestlers, where you take away kicks, punches, and so.

Foot Sole Reading Anagram Five Way Match
Shoko Nakajima vs. Mizuki vs. Yuki Kamifuku vs. Raku vs. Kaya Toribami - 4.5/10
Stipulation of the match is that each woman has an alphabet character on their sole, so they need to figure out their opponent's characters and then arrange the characters into a word, but you can only get to take a shot at the word if you get at least a two count.

The match itself wasn't great, it was mostly comedy and tons of pins with some stalling to take attempts at the word, especially because some of the attempts came from way before they had even seen all of the characters. At the end, the first one to get all the characters was Mizuki, but she got the word wrong, so Shoko jumped in, pinned Kamiyu and go the word correct for the win.

Best thing was that Nakajima couldn't stop corpsing because she kept coming up with the worst answers.

Mil Nodocaras & Yuki Caras vs. Haruna Neko & Hyper Misao - 4/10
BASURETSU sisters are cosplaying the Caras brothers, Tenma is Mil Mascaras, Aino is Dos Caras. Misao and Neko are representing the law, because the last time the wrestled the BASURETSU on a Member's show, they were thugs. They still worked like heels, and they did TRY to do some lucha spots.

Finish saw Misao stop the match so she could had a heart-to-heart talk with Tenma until Misao and Neko were weeping. Tenma didn't sell it, but when she attempted to finish Misao with a 619, she got stuck in the ropes, fell, and Misao capitalized with a roll up.

Marika Kobashi, Rika Tatsumi & Suzume vs. Hikari Noa, Mahiro Kiryu & Nao Kakuta - 6.5/10
Here's the breakdown. Kiryu is cosplaying Yuki Aino, Suzume is Pom Harajuku and is barely recognizable, Nao Kakuta is RIka Tatsumi, Kobashi is Raku, Noa is Kakuta, so she's dressed as her tag team partner, who is dressed as their opponent. Last but not least, Rika is cosplaying Yuki Arai. You can just tell that Rika and Marika live for these matches.

Match was fun, it was the closest we got to a real match tonight. It was really Rika Tatsumi heavy, it's like she didn't want to tag out or something, because she pretty much worked the whole babyface in peril and when Kiryu took the hot tag, she worked through it too until she cut off Kiryu again. At the end, she tapped out Kiryu for the win.

Post-match - Tatsumi and Shoko brought out the roster to close the show and thank the crowd.

OVERALL THOUGHTS
Without a doubt, these Universe Member's shows are the best thing ever, they're just two hours of fun. zero analyzing storytelling, consistency, and workrate. I love it!
