BOTB To never be World Champ
BOTB To never be World Champ
in the two companies awwea and the Old WCW which past wrestler was the best to never hold either championship belt i have a list
Mr Perfect: Probly the smoothest wrestler in the ring could go with anybody championship material
Scott Hall: Reguardless of personal issues Scott in his day was an incredible talent
Owen Hart: Owen just should've had that title at least once he was incredible as good as Bret if not better
Jake Roberts: great stick man perfect mind fo wrestling maybe to much of a loner to be champion
Whats everybody's take on this

Re: BOTB To never be World Champ
I agree with all of these, though I will put my money more on Perfect and Hart. Mainly being Perfect [Hennig] was a damn good athlete and he could very well outdo everyone in the locker room back in his day. Same for Owen Hart. Though scripted, the Hart Dungeon got it's rep for a reason and I have no doubt Owen could outdo virtually everyone in the locker room when he was around.BOD wrote:in the two companies awwea and the Old WCW which past wrestler was the best to never hold either championship belt i have a list

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Ted Dibiase never got the belt and he would have been an excellent heel champion.

Re: BOTB To never be World Champ
Darkil you hit the nail on the head right there with both Perfect and Hart Owen could out wrestle even Bret IMO but back in the day Hall and Roberts were both great wrestlers Jake could tell a story better than most.
Also think about this one Marty Jannety what do you all think

personally, i don't think Jannety was world champion material ever, aside from being completely overshadowed by HBK, his caliber was always under many wrestlers of his era...BOD wrote:

Re: BOTB To never be World Champ
So what titles are being counted as World championships? I say WWE, WCW, NWA, TNA, ECW, AWA, All-Japan, New Japan/IWGP, World Class, USWA...
My argument will always be Arn Anderson... In his prime he beat BOTH Hogan & Flair when BOTH were in their prime...

Re: BOTB To never be World Champ
I wouldn't say that; mainly bc the 90's wasn't either of those guys' primes. But Arn is indeed one of the best never to hold a singles world title.ECWFlairfan wrote:So what titles are being counted as World championships? they (Hogan & Flair) were at the end of their prime but i say they were in their prime... (Flair & Arn both had primes that lasted over a decade though, talent wise...)badnewzxl wrote:I wouldn't say that; mainly bc the 90's wasn't either of those guys' primes. Re: BOTB To never be World Champ
ECW only if we count the old school won only, not the WWE/ECW one.ECWFlairfan wrote:So what titles are being counted as World championships? I say WWE, WCW, NWA, TNA, ECW, AWA, All-Japan, New Japan/IWGP, World Class, USWA...

and right now, I think that the ROH world title is more of a world title than the TNA world title...

Re: BOTB To never be World Champ
What about AWA? They were number three back in the day; just like ECW was in the 90's....cero2k wrote:ECW only if we count the old school won only, not the WWE/ECW one.ECWFlairfan wrote:So what titles are being counted as World championships? Come on now. The AWA title was and still is a very respected title. The person he beat to win the title is a HOF caliber wrestler, Nick Bockwinkel. The only reason not to really count that title reign is because the roster of the AWA after Hogan left was crap. BTW, I just bought the AWA dvd for $5 at Wal Mart. Probably the best story I've watched.

Re: BOTB To never be World Champ
Roddy Pipper sucked in the ring after he left Mid-Atlantic wrestling. I would have never considered him a world champion. Even if you based it on his great charisma.Earth Child wrote:badnewzxl wrote:Roddy Piper

Re: BOTB To never be World Champ
I think they had a pretty good roster; on ESPN they had Col. DeBeers, Wahoo McDaniel, the Rockers, Scott Hall, Kurt Hennig, Stan Hansen, King Kong Brody, Sgt, Slaughter, Sherry Martel, Medusa, Nick Bockwinkel, and a few more guys. I'd say that was a pretty good roster....Catus Jack Manson wrote:badnewzxl wrote:Jake Roberts

Re: BOTB To never be World Champ
True. I want to say a bunch of stuff, but it would ruin the DVD for you. Either way, a bunch of those names didn't stay long. At most during the time the AWA was on ESPN, most of those names were gone within a year or two.badnewzxl wrote:I think they had a pretty good roster; on ESPN they had Col.
