NJPW/CMLL FantasticaMania 2017: Day 5 (1/20/2017)- Tokyo, Japan

HENARE & BLUE PANTHER JR. vs. WILL OSPREAY & EPHESTO- 4.5/10

JUSHIN “THUNDER” LIGER, TIGER MASK IV, & EL SOBERANO JR. vs. JADO, GEDO, & RAZIEL- 3.5/10
Liger was a dick to Gedo for no reason in the beginning, so I was quite satisfied watching him get beaten up during what was theoretically the heat.

MAXIMO SEXY & STUKA JR. vs. MEPHISTO & OKUMURA- 4/10

HIROSHI TANAHASHI, RYUSUKE TAGUCHI, KUSHIDA, ATLANTIS, & DAVID FINLAY JR. vs. LOS INGOBERNABLES DE JAPON (Tetsuya Naito, BUSHI, Sanada, EVIL, & Rush)- 5.75/10
Taguchi is wearing some goofy get-up. I think he is supposed to be an ancient Egyptian or something. It looks pretty stupid. Other than that the match was inoffensive, but not particularly good, either. Los Ingobernables looked strong throughout, so I guess that’s good. There was also a decent post-match angle where they beat down Atlantis.

MISTICO, JUICE ROBINSON, & VOLADOR JR. vs. ULTIMO GUERRERO, EUFORIA, & KAZUCHIKA OKADA- 6.75/10
Ultimo Guerrero and Volador Jr. ripped each other’s masks off. Shouldn’t that be a double DQ? Other than that the match was fun.

TITAN vs. HIROMU TAKAHASHI- 7/10
Titan’s poor selling of his leg once his comeback began brought down an otherwise great match.

CMLL WORLD LIGHTWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: Dragon Lee(c) vs. El Barbaro Cavernario- 8.25/10
Spots, but fun spots nonetheless.

A two-match show from New Japan.

that's his gimmick, he's the Funky Pharaoh, KUSHIDA's was waay weirder

I'm hearing Cavernario dislocated his shoulder and they had to stop the match

Funky Pharaoh? Don't tell Amasis or else he'll be pissed.

Would not surprise me one bit. He's going to be retired by age thirty at this rate.

oh yeah, my bad. Taguchi is just the 'Funky Dancer' and 'Funky Weapon'. Now I don't have an answer for you, but he always comes out dressed as a pharaoh for some reason
