DDT De Aimashou 2020
July 3rd, 2020
Tokyo, Japan

Real fans!

Toru Owashi & Yukio Naya vs. Danshoku Dino & Kazuki Hirata vs. Keigo Nakamura & Tomomitsu Matsunaga vs. ALL OUT (Shunma Katsumata & Yuki Iino) - Dud
Owashi pinned Hirata with a roll up. That is literally all that happened. Match lasted 4 seconds. The only thing here is that Dieno did as much as he could so Hirata could do his complete entrance

Post-match - Hirata took the mic and told everyone to get back in the ring. Hirata wanted to make it a 6-on-2 vs Owashi and Naya, but instead, Nakamura made it a 4-on-4, Veterans vs Youth

Danshoku Dino, Kazuki Hirata, Tomomitsu Matsunaga & Toru Owashi vs. ALL OUT (Shunma Katsumata & Yuki Iino), Keigo Nakamura & Yukio Naya - 4/10
Ok match, it was really just two spots before they took it home, but they were funny. One saw Dieno do his corner butt spot with everyone running into his butt, but Hirata was there disinfecting his butt every time someone went into it. The other was Nakamura and Iino created a mighty centaur, so Iino just did his kata with Nakamura under him. Finish saw Hirata pin Nakamura with the Egoist Driver.

Eruption (Kazusada Higuchi & Yukio Sakaguchi) vs. Hideki Okatani & Mizuki Watase - Squash
This match was a bit unbalanced, Eruption beat the SHIT out of Okatani, and Watase is an up-and-coming guy with talent, but no he way can take on Eruption by himself. Okatani and Watase had a short hope spot with Watase's hot tag, but in the end Higuchi submitted Okatani like nothing with a Torture Rack, but in a Canadian Backbreaker position.

Antonoi Honda & HARASHIMA vs DAMNATION (Daisuke Sasaki & Soma Takao) - 6.5/10
If I have to watch a Sasaki match, it may as well be a comedy match with Honda or someone like that, it makes him bearable. This was pretty formulaic until the end. Antonio did comedy, got worked over, HARASHIMA kicked ass with a hot tag, then Antonio returned to do the fake quitting and Fox story spots, took down Takao, but Sasaki reversed send the Fox into HARASHIMA, then rolled up Honda for the win.

Kabukicho Special Singles Match
Chris Brookes vs. Maku Donaruto - 6/10
I missed Brookes song soooo much! For reference, Maku Donaruto is Ronald McDonald. Yes, that Ronald McDonald, and his thing is that he's a pervert.

Match was kinda meh, it started with Brookes trying to destroy Maku's penis it seemed, then Maku got some offense, and the Brookes made a comeback and won with the Praying Mantis Bomb.

There was a really ugly spot with Donaruto doing an Asai Moonsault, but completely overdoing it and landing half of his body in the elevated tables behind the first 2-3 rows. Sounded painful and he was lucky not to fall straight down on his head.

Post-match - Aoki came out and challenged Maku to challenge him for the Hardcore title at the next show. Ima booked it.

Akiyama Army (Jun Akiyama & Makoto Oishi) vs ALLOUT! (Akito & Konosuke Takeshita) - 7/10
If Oishi is a member of Akiyama's group, I'm not really interested to see what direction it will take.

This was great, Oishi and Akito got their legs worked on, so that the last minutes was them doing a wrestling match while limping. Takeshita and Akiyama had a pretty decent run together, it's nice for once to see Akiyama care, now that he's not just doing his weekly Beat Up Menso-Re match. Oishi won the match with a Fujiyama Knee Lock over Akito after some good near falls.

Post-match - Both stables had a short stare off, Akiyama seemed to approve of Takeshita and Akito, but it seemed like Takeshita wanted more of Akiayama. ALLOUT vs Akiyama Army 4-on-4 is scheduled for the Korakuen Hall show.

Nautilus (Naomi Yoshimura & Yuki Ueno) vs. DAMNATION (Mad Paulie & Tetsuya Endo) - 7.5/10
This was the worst Nautilus match I've seen and it still got a 7+ rating. Match was basic, Endo and Paulie cut off Ueno, worked on him, Naomi got the hot tag and did big boy stuff with Paulie. Endo had a short, but great little run where he single handedly beat up Ueno and Naomi, but then Ueno cut him off and they worked together nicely. At the end, Ueno pinned Paulie with a nasty looking BME, landing knee first into his chest.

Post-match - Ueno cut a promo saying that he took the tag titles from Ueno, and while he didn't beat him tonight, he is set in being the one to take Endo's title.

Saki Akai Okibariyasu Seven Match Series Match #7
Meiko Satomura vs. Saki Akai - 7/10
This is the first ever women's main event in DDT Pro's history, not even when Satomura was the KO-D Openweight Champion did she main event against other women. So we have former KO-D OW Champion vs Current KO-D Trios Champion. ERUPTION did not come out with Sakai as respect to Satomura who is here by herself.

Meiko Satomura is arguably the best female wrestler in the world, and you'd could wish for a Satomura vs Sakazaki or Yamashita for the first ever main event, but truth is, Saki Akai has really made a name for herself in DDT, kinda leaving behind TJPW. She's not exactly young and has a long way to go still, but she has a lot of superstar potential.

The story of the match was perfect for what it needed to be. Satomura was straight up on another level than Akai, she dominated, she had the counters, she had the kick outs, but Akai still gave it her all until she just couldn't keep up with Satomura, and the beauty of it, was that Satomura pushed Akai to bring it out, at one point she even stopped the referee from stopping the match because she knew that Akai could still go. Satomura won with a Scorpion Rising.

Akai's stuff didn't look exactly good, but I guess everything looks like shit when you're opposed Satomura.

Post-match - Satomura put over Saki Akai for fighting these last months and becoming a champion (on several occasions), in a man's promotion. Meiko said that this match helped her get stronger and thanked Akai. Asked for another match in the future.

Akai took the mic and said "wait, you're actually gonna get stronger!?" Akai said that Meiko winning the KO-D OW title inspired her and taught her a lot, but she had to keep going and stop watching at Meiko from the back. She thanked her for being her final opponent. She said that she left ERUPTION in the back because she wanted to be here alone with Satomura and carry that weight of closing the show.

OVERALL THOUGHTS
Ok show by DDT, nothing special really, but it was nice for a chill night at home. This was really just built around Satoruma's return and main event with Akai, so the rest felt like filler, but we still had some stuff that seems to be working towards bigger matches in the future.
