Re: NJPW invasion tour hype
I hope this gets the attention it deserves. American guys in Japan are treated as heroes, but Japanese wrestlers are treated as "a Japanese guy" in America.

Depends on the guy (or gal). Look at Misawa, Kobashi, Toyota, etcyourcrapsweak wrote:I hope this gets the attention it deserves. American guys in Japan are treated as heroes, but Japanese wrestlers are treated as "a Japanese guy" in America.
And I disagree that they are just treated as Japanese guys. Those that deserve it are treated as huge deals.

In the right cities, yeah. But in some companies/cities... they're not as appreciated as they should be.Big Red Machine wrote:Those that deserve it are treated as huge deals.

But those companies don't bring in guys like that. The last one I can think of was Liger in TNA back in 2005, and he was definitely treated like a legend.Lynas wrote:In the right cities, yeah. Hmm... If I think about it...yeah I guess so, but I'm still right about the areas... it's really strange... but some areas of USA just appreciate the product more... (Philly, Chicago etc.) more than others... it's in these cities you'll find more love for the overseas guys..Big Red Machine wrote:But those companies don't bring in guys like that. Liger had all sorts of vignettes & videos. He was hyped to the moon & treated the way he should be.
