BRM Reviews the 11/29/2019 205 Live (getting better)

Post by Big Red Machine » Dec 9th, '19, 20:08

The announcers point out that this is 205 Live’s 3rd anniversary show. And what a ride it has been. From a good show to Vince-driven ridiculousness to twenty months as the wrestling show on television every week to whatever this not terrible but clearly b-show mediocrity we have right now is.

ARIYA DAIVARI vs. RAUL MENDOZA- 6.75/10
A great way to open the show. Ten minutes of solid wrestling action of all types.

JACK GALLAGHER PROMO- GREAT!
A man on the verge of mental defeat due to the sheer frustration of not succeeding no matter how hard he tries.

ANGEL GARZA PROMO- Also great, and especially as a counterpart to Gallagher’s promo. Garza doesn’t have a care in the world. He is certain that he’ll win tonight and then be granted a Cruiserweight Title match.

They showed Tweets from various Cruiserweights putting over the show’s third anniversary.

DANNY BURCH vs. A JOBBER- no rating, great squash

CRUISERWEIGHT STUFF HAPPENS AFTER WEDNESDAY’S NXT- great
Lio Rush is getting interviewed but before he can get anything out, Tozawa stopped by for a show of mutual respect after their match. Angel Garza stopped by to say that Lio has been ducking him and that Lio didn’t pin him. Some referees and Tozawa kept them apart before things could get physical.

ANGEL GARZA vs. JACK GALLAGHER- 7.25/10
They had a solid main event. The big moment was Gallagher hitting his finisher but Garza getting his foot on the rope, and unlike against Lio Rush, the referee saw it. Garza then came back and got the win, and Gallagher snapped afterwards, destroying the ringside area, attacking security, and even headbutting Drake Maverick when Maverick came out to calm him down.

This was a very good episode of 205 Live. The wrestling was good but not blow-away, but the promos were all great and the storyline at the end definitely has me interested, which is more than I have been able to say about 205 Live for the past month or so.
