BRM Reviews the 10/28/2021 NXT UK (disappointing)

MARK COFFEY (w/Wolfgang) vs. ROHAN RAJA (w/Teoman)- 4.25/10
Coffey won a short match cleanly.

POST-MATCH SEGMENT- fine
The heels jumped the babyfaces (or whatever Gallus are supposed to be) after the match and left them laying. Security had to come pull them off.

SYMBIOSIS VS. ASHTON SMITH & OLIVER CARTER VS. DAVE MASTIFF & JACK STARZ VIDEO PACKAGE- fine
Sid Scala announces that these three teams will have a #1 contendership match in two weeks.

GALLUS ONCE AGAIN INTERRUPT A CHARLIE DEMPSEY INTERVIEW- At least this time they’re looking for someone who just attacked them, rather than the usual for them, which is just being loud and obnoxious.

AMELE vs. MYLA GRACE- 3.5/10
This wasn’t bad or anything, but it was one of those matches that would have been a squash except they let the jobber get too much offense in, and the offense the squasher was getting in wasn’t enough to elevate the match past something that would have worked better as a total squash. Blair Davenport came out to watch from the ramp.

ALEAH JAMES’ INTERVIEW IS INTERRUPTED BY NINA SAMUELS- meh
I guess Nina is adding her own music in post-production? Anyway, Nina jumped in and stole the interview and insulted James, so James left.

EARLIER TODAY, “FLASH” MORGAN WEBSTER’S ATTEMPT TO SLAP RAMPAGE BROWN WAS FOILED BY BROWN BLOCKING IT- dumb
Brown shoved Flash against the wall and said “if you wanted a match, all you have to do is ask,” and therein lies the problem with this whole thing. IT’S PRO WRESTLING! If you want to have a match with someone, just grab a mic, head to the ring, and make an open challenge. Walking around slapping people is the equivalent of being a three-year-old who hits because they haven’t learned how to use their words yet. I wish Rampage would have shoved Webster’s head through that wall instead of just pushing him up against it.

CHARLEY DEMPSEY vs. DANNY JONES- 2/10
Another squash that went too long.

MEIKO SATOMURA vs. JINNY VIDEO PACKAGE- good

ISLA DAWN SILLINESS- She needs one more “charm” for her magical potion or whatever she’s making.

NXT UK HERITAGE CUP MATCH: Tyler Bate(c) (w/Trent Seven) vs. Noam Dar (w/Sha Samuels)- 6/10
This wasn’t much until the last two rounds (two even rounds to start off, then two rounds cut short by a fall to keep things even, then two rounds of action), and the finish was quite frustrating. Pretty Deadly came to bother the babyfaces and got into a scuffle with Seven that resulted in Seven accidentally throwing that stupid towel of his into the ring, and because Dar had Bate in a submission at the moment, the ref took that as a submission. Bate’s go-nowhere title run needed to end, but this was not the way to do it.

A disappointing episode of NXT UK. Next week has Jinny vs. Meiko, so at least that should be better.
