AEW Dynamite
October 30th, 2019
Charleston, NC

Tony Schiavone greets Cody - It makes Cody look like a big shot arriving like this. You could say that Schiavone should be at his seat, but he's hanging out with the boss, so who's gonna say something?

Jon Moxley Meets Khan - He is told that his match at Full Gear will be unsanctioned because of their actions, which means that they can't get 'wins counted towards their record. Mox told 'Khan' that Omega's blood will be on his hands. They never showed Khan.

"Hangman" Adam Page vs Sammy Guevara - 7/10
This was a really strong showing for Page and Guevara. This felt in a way, like that part of the video game where you fight the very first henchman of the big boss, the short cocky speed demon. It was basic storytelling, with Page having the upper hand until Guevara used dirty tactics to get the upper hand. Page made his comeback, got a huge pop, and won with the Buckshot Lariat. This was what it needed to be.

Post-match - Page cut a promo that at Full Gear, he's going to kill PAC. He got "Cowboy Shit" chants, so that's a new t-shirt for tomorrow. For a man that hasn't been cutting promos, this was his chance and it was short.

Shanna vs Hikaru Shida - 7.5/10
Holy shit, didn't know Shanna had joined AEW! Portugal's Perfect Athlete! Fuck yes! And Shida has finally moved to the US! Fuck YES! YES! YES!

If not because people love Shida, you could totally think of her as a heel, she gets cocky at times, and is kinda aggressive too. It doesn't help that Shanna is a great babyface too, so she made Shida look evil at times by contrast. The match was awesome regardless, it was hard hitting, back and forward, and the last minutes when Shida started racing the timer, it got dramatic. Shida won with a Falcon Arrow followed by a running knee. This match got over. Shanna looked awesome.

It says a lot that a chick that hasn't been there in a while, and the other just debuted tonight, got incredibly over tonight.

Brandi Rhodes Recap - We got a recap of Brandi going Darth, followed by a vignette of Brandi practicing Black Magic against the women's roster. She summoned Awesome Kong from the depths of Freddy Krueger's dreams. Brandi vs Sabrina at Full Gear?

Rock N Roll Express Presentation - They're presenting the tag titles to the winners of tonight's title match. Proud and Powerful attacked them from behind, took the titles, and dropped Morton through the stage. The Bucks came out for the save, ran out PnP, and checked over the RnRE.

We got an update of Cody and Schiavone riding on the limo. They're doing the contract signing with Jericho tonight. Schiavone is talking history. Cody talked about the situation with Jericho. This was too long to have jobbers already out there in the ring, we could hear the crowd chanting stuff.

The Best Friends & Orange Cassidy vs The Beaver Boys & QT Marshall - Squash
Holy shit, Rick and Morty introduced The Best Friends and OC, who came out dressed as Rick and Rick and Morty. This was just a squash that built to Orange Cassidy's spots. Trent pinned Silver after Strong Zero.

Chris Jericho vs Cody Contract Signing - They have the table set up at the ramp, it's an interesting set up. Schiavone is preceding the signing, there is a lady which i'm guessing is a lawyer or notary. Cody signed, Jericho psyched Cody, then cut a promo hyping up their match, saying it's the biggest match of AEW/Year/Cody's career. Jericho signed and offered Cody a hand shake. They shook, got face to face.

Suddenly, Sammy Guevara on the screen interrupted, showing Jake Hager beating up Dustin Rhodes in the parking lot. Hager destroyed Dustin's arm with the car door and bent the car with Dustin's head. This looked brutal.

They Hybrid 2 & Kip Sabian vs The Elite - 8/10
We got a really weird intro for Omega, with reference to New Japan, losing friends, and a new theme song, there is a lot to read into this. He came out dressed as something that I don't recognize, could be just a Halloween thing I guess. Bucks once again used their Street Fighter attires, which is kinda cheap if you think about it.

Match was all over the place, tons of spots by everyone, just action left and right. Omega pinned Evans with a V-Trigger and OWA. Sabian looked awesome. Omega vs Evans needs to happen one-on-one

Post-match - Two fans wearing masks high five The Bucks, but it turns out its PnP and jump The Bucks. Omega runs them off. An annoying chick is trying to take selfies with Nick and is almost falling over him. Fuck off!

"The Librarian" Peter Avalon w/Leva Bates vs ???
Avalon cut his usual empty air promo before the match. Moxley didn't wait, headed to the ring through the crowd, got the ring and delivered the Paradigm Shift.

Moxley cut a promo bringing up that his match with Omega is now unsanctioned. He brought up that officially, this doesn't go down in the records books. He blamed AEW for trying to keep him in the safe box and so he told AEW to shove their win/loss record up their ass. Amazing anti-corporate rebel promo!

Inaugural AEW World Tag Team Championship Match
Lucha Brothers vs S.C.U. (Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky) - 9/10
If it had been me, I would had made special video packages for both team's road to this match. They showed Private Party in the crowd, while The Dark Match were backstage watching the match. Crowd is going crazy! Big match feels.

All men started with a Frye/Takayama spot that led t o a lot of kicks and double team moves, we got a Penta Driver in the first minute! Lucha Bros were super dominant when in control, which was most of the time at least the first half of the match, so dominant that even commentary brought up the heelery of it. SCU made their comeback and started chasing finishers, it seemed like Lucha Bros had the match won when Penta took out Kaz on a table, but they manage to come back and of all things, it was a roll up from Sky on Penta that ended the match.

Scorpio Sky and Frankie Kazarian, the first ever AEW World Tag Team Champions. I'm not gonna lie, I really wanted Lucha Bros, but SCU is undeniably over and on top of their game, perfectly good champions to start the division.

OVERALL THOUGHTS
Packed show, I think everything delivered tonight, both promos and matches, my only complain was that the main event wasn't hyped throughout the show more. The angles between The Inner Circle and their counterparts were pretty solid, but just like I said with NWA Powerrr this week, I think we need to get more matches announced for the PPV.

He was Sans from Undertale, who's the secret boss in that game and mascot of the series . The song was the Sans battle song "Megalovania". Fact Undertale was also the inspiration for the music/theming of his final New Japan match.
