BRM Reviews TNA Final Resolution 2011

Post by Big Red Machine » Dec 12th, '11, 15:06

TNA Final Resolution 2011 (12/11/2011)- Orlando, FL

ROB VAN DAM vs. CHRISTOPHER DANIELS- 7/10 Very good opener

IF JEFF JARRETT LOSES APPARENTLY HE OR KAREN WILL BE FIRED- WTF? I thought all of the Immortal guys had “iron-clad” contracts. So how did this stip get made? Jarrett’s promo later in the show told us that neither he nor Karen agreed to it!

MICKIE JAMES PROMO- Good

TNA TV TITLE MATCH: Robbie E.(c) (w/Rob Terry) vs. Eric Young)- 4.5/10

POPE & DEVON PROMOS- Pope was good. Devon’s was eh.

TNA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Crimson & Matt Morgan(c) vs. Devon & The Pope- 4.75/10 WTF? Last week on Impact, they had this FANTASTIC segment that made me care about this ridiculous angle… and now that segment doesn’t play into the match AT ALL? WTF?!

AJ STYLES PROMO- GREAT!

TNA X-DIVISION TITLE MATCH: Austin Aries(c) vs. Kid Kash- 7/10

TNA KNOCKOUTS’ TITLE MATCH: Gail Kim(c) vs. Mickie James- 5.25/10

JAMES STORM PROMO- Good

KURT ANGLE vs. JAMES STORM- 7.5/10. The finish felt kind of underwhelming, but Taz and Tenay’s commentary showed that they are clearly building to something with this.

STEEL CAGE MATCH WITH WAY TOO MANY STIPULATIONS: Jeff Hardy vs. Jeff Jarrett-
- If Hardy wins, he will get a shot at the TNA World Heavyweight Title, and either Jeff or Karen Jarrett will be fired.
- If Jarrett wins, Hardy will be fired.
- Sting and Karen Jarrett will be handcuffed together on the outside.
6.75/10. Disappointing for a blow-off cage match, but I like the build towards Sting vs. Jarrett.

BOBBY ROODE PROMO- good.

30 MINUTE IRON MAN MATCH FOR THE TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: Bobby Roode(c) vs. AJ Styles- 8.25/10. I hated the spot at the end where AJ’s leg gave out when he tried to do a Styles Clash… then AJ gets up and hits a DIVE?! Other than that, this told a great story. I don’t like the way they did the finish, but I realize that it is the right kind of heat. I am annoyed that I got cheated out of a good ending, but they did it in a way that sets up for a rematch (and, with Jeff getting the title shot at Genesis, and AJ also deserving one, it is highly likely that TNA might actually be smart and hold off on Roode vs. Storm until Lockdown.

Overall, a very good show from TNA.

I actually agree with EVERYTHING BRM said in this review; I might have even given the main event a lower rating bc of the lame-ass ending. Why didn't Sting come out and demand five more minutes? Other than that and a few other things, it was not too bad a ppv for TNA....

A fair question, but, I assume the kayfabe explanation is because they didn't have enough time left on the PPV.

true. I was becoming concerned that they'd even have enough time for the match itself....
