BRM Reviews TNA Turning Point 2012

Post by Big Red Machine » Nov 12th, '12, 17:44

TNA Turning Point 2012 (11/12/2012)-Orlando, FL

OPENING VIDOE PACKAGE- did they really just spend the entire two-minute video package on just one feud?

NO DISQUALIFCATION MATCH FOR THE TNA TV TITLE MATCH: Samoa Joe(c) vs. Magnus- 6.25/10
They really didn’t use the No DQ’s stip much at all, but still a good opener.

ERICK YOUNG & ODB vs. JESSIE GODDERZ & TARA- 4.25/10
Decently entertaining.

JAMES STORM PROMO- good

TNA X-DIVISION TITLE MATCH: Rob Van Dam(c) vs. Joey Ryan- 5.5/10
I would have preferred to have Morgan’s music play (not have him come out though- think the Hogan-Jericho match from 2002), and have that distract RVD, allowing Joey to roll him up for the win. Joey is much better personality for the X-Division Title than RVD is. Keneley’s reluctance to say “NWA Hollywood” seems slightly silly when Tenay has already said “WWE” and “Ring of Honor” so far tonight.

JOSEPH PARK PROMO- good

DOC vs. JOSEPH PARK- 6.5/10
Joseph’s in-ring style is a true work of art and I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that they put Doc over. The aftermath was great, too.

BOBBY ROODE PROMO- okay

TNA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Chavo Guerrero Jr. & Hernandez(c) vs. Christopher Daniels & Kazarian- 6.5/10

AJ STYLES PROMO- good

WINNER BECOMES #1 CONTENDER TO THE TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE, LOSER OF THE FALL CAN’T GET A TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH UNTIL BOUND FOR GLORY 2012: James Storm vs. Bobby Roode vs. AJ Styles-7.75/10

DEVON PROMO- very good, aside from the fact that he can’t pronounce his own rank in the club correctly.

KURT ANGLE vs. DEVON- 6/10

AJ STYLES PROMO-silence is perfect.

AUSTIN ARIES PROMO- awesome!

LADDER MATCH FOR THE TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: Jeff Hardy(c) vs. Austin Aries- 7.75/10
A few very noticeable botches here. The spot where Aries stopped climbing to go check if Hardy was still trapped was dumb.

Overall, a good show from TNA, but nothing special.
Hold #712: ARM BAR!
