Gushing about the latest Firefly Funhouse

Post by NWK2000 » Sep 10th, '19, 13:41

phpBB [video]

A couple of things I'd like to point out.
1. First, I like how they're keeping Wyatt vs Braun or/Seth in our minds congruent with the Clash of Champions build up. You rarely if ever see WWE build to a show more than four weeks in advance unless it's Mania season. I want this to become more habitual.
2. The clock being "stuck on 3:16" is a nice way to say that whenever a legend shows up, stuff pauses, and Bray is going to blunt force his way into relevance, but admits that "You can't blame a rattlesnake for doing rattlesnake things"
3. Bray threatening Seth's friends sets up four matches or segments ( three depending on if they want Fiend vs Ivar or Erik in singles, which I doubt, but whatever. I also don't doubt they'll blow through them in one night but again, we shall see)
4. Bray having to hush his friends and briefly turning into the Fiend is an indicator that Bray is schizophrenic and these are in his inner voices, with The Fiend itself being another.
5. This is just a super minor quibble, but I like the fact that Ramblin' Rabbit gets the most lines in any given FFFH segment. He is after all, a rambler, and is probably the most prominent feature of Bray's character, as he too is a rambler.

And like, I get no one else here likes The Fiend, but figured I'd idea dump.

I never said I don't ~like~ The Fiend... it's one of my favorite concepts, I didn't like the execution. What'd Jerry Lawler ever do to him? What'd Mick Foley ever do to him? I'm reaching for reasons he had it in for Balor... he eluded on this episode of The Funhouse that there's a personal/psychotic reason behind each attack, but none of it's clear. It goes back to what I said before, he went from this potential complex character to "WWE's Haunted".

That said, if they keep up with Funhouse Vingettes, they could absolutely turn this back around for me. I just need a little more substance. I like the idea of The Fiend laying people out and Bray rationalizing the attacks on The Funhouse.

I liked this a lot. The buzz now is what makes 11:19 significant. Undertaker's debut? This Year's Survivor Series? The amount of time used by wrestling matches on their average three hour show? Who knows!?

THIS is substance!

It's not Taker's debut as that was on 11/22/90. The more I think about it, the more I think it just means that Firefly Funhouse exists in the reality that he's created in his own head (If FFFH was taking place alongside current events at the show,. they could've easily edited in the time at the arena)

I just don't have faith that we'll ever get anything like that.

I can settle for what we're getting now, with a weekly Funhouse talking about current events. I don't remember where I read it, but somebody pointed out how Bray might be the only wrestler in history that figured out how to be his own manager, and I love it.

They just need to keep doing it, and protect it.

They could spin it that way for sure, but... and don't say "magic", I swear to god if you say "magic"... how does the reality in his head get to the Titantron? Why would the kids in his delusion look so bored? You think the product of his imagination would be hanging on his every word...

I think he's supposed to be more "serial killer" - with the elaborate presentation and the similarities between victims - and less "shit's haunted".

Bray demands people recreate the set he sees and be the puppets for fear of sicking The Fiend on them?

This theory indicates that Bray has some sort of control over the Fiend, which contradicts your earlier schizophrenia theory.

I mean, Bray did say he "learned how to harness it" in one of the earliest FFFHs
Edit: This would also explain the uncomfortable looking children in some of the previous FFFHs, that Bray has a whole crew of puppeteers, parents of child actors, and production crew under some duress.

Why would he force them to work for him under duress when he could just possess them as seen in the creepy singing kids segment?

Wouldn't they look significantly jollier if they were possessed? At most he's possessed the Abby and Mercy puppeteers as they're distorted versions of his voice ?You could make the argument he's possessed the other puppeteers but Mercy and Abby are the biggest cases towards that .

All the secrets.

He knows who blew up Mr McMahons limmo.

He knows the identity of the ninjas that kidnapped Samoa Joe.

He knows why Nexus attacked The Undertaker.

He has Jim Cornette's lost lock of Shawn Michaels' hair.

He knows what's bothering Mojo Rawley.

He knows how The Blonde Bytch Project ended.

He was in on the Montreal Screwjob

He filmed the Paige sex tapes.

Ramblin' Rabbit is the most dangerous thing in the company. He sees all, he knows all, he has all the answers, and he cannot be destroyed.

I'm down for the timeline in which Bray Wyatt sows up all existing storyline plotholes. Also could you imagine if Paige and Woods refilmed the sex tape, but right at the moment of climax the camera turns and it's just The Fiend going "YOWIE WOWIE"?
I would put down thousands of dollars for this pornography swerve.

Realization: "We're really glad that you're out friend...and this is a friendship that will never ever end!"

The Fiend is all about "making friends..."

Meaning: He will never be stopped...or end.

I'm on the fence though...loved that segments and vignettes...but I feel that everything revolving around just "The Fiend."...
Needs some more work and development. Sure, we got a little build and story about it before slowly...but now he's just here on Raw without much else.
