wXw We Love Wrestling #19 (8/6/2021)- Oberhausen, Germany

DAN INTERVIEWS AVALANCHE- good
He puts over the Arrows of Hungary for beating him and Anil for the tag titles. He also puts Anil over for his improvements. They are having a 2 out of 3 falls rematch at the 20th Anniversary Show.
Dan asks Avalanche about Feyyaz Aguilar’s debut at Shortcut to the Top. Avalanche said he wasn’t happy about it, seeing as how he had said that Feyyaz wasn’t ready a mere week before. He says he will have a word with the office about this.
That right there is something that far too many promotions inexplicably miss. When something doesn’t seem to make sense on the surface, it’s important that the relevant characters (and, ideally, the announcers as well) be asking the same questions that we fans are asking. It’s how the storyteller tells the audience “Trust me. It will make sense in the end.”
I assume the office was trying to appease Heisenberg to get him to stop attacking people.
Avalanche also said he would run through his opponent for tonight, Gulyas Jr. I sure hope so.

GULYAS JR. vs. “THE AVALANCHE” ROBERT DREISSKER- 2/10
Avalanche gets a dominant win and gets to pay Gulyas Jr. back for flicking sweat on him at Shortcut to the Top last week.

DAN INTERVIEWS BOBBY GUNNS & NORMAN HARRAS- good
Norman is seems more concerned about wanting to win the draft lottery for a chance to regain the Shotgun Title than he is about tonight’s match.

LEON VAN GASTEREN & TIM STUBING vs. DIE RAUCHERPAUSE (Bobby Gunns & Norman Harras)- 6.5/10
The babyfaces picked up the clean win. Norman bumped into Bobby twice during the match, so Bobby didn’t even try to save him on the final pinfall. As you might imagine, Bobby was quite annoyed with Norman.

ANDY JACKSON INTERVIEWS LEON VAN GASTEREN & TIM STUBING- good
Leon decides that they are no longer mentor and student. They are now equals, and thus they can have an official tag team name, which will be the Hannover Hurricanes. He issues a “storm warning” to all of the other teams in the division.

DAN INTERVIEWS JURN SIMMONS- fine
He’s the #1 contender due to winning Shortcut to the Top. He says he’s been waiting to get his hands on Marius for a long time.

JURN SIMMONS & PETER TIHANYI- squash
I thought Tihanyi has been doing well enough that squashing him here feels like they are defining him down (to steal Wade Keller’s phrase).

JURN SIMMONS PROMO- good
This was a more intense promo expressing his desire to kick Marius Al-Ani’s ass.

DAN INTERVIEWS NICKY FOXLEY & TAYRA GATES- good
They say they’ll have an advantage because they are a regular tag team outside of wXw. Foxley also noted that both of them beat Delia but lost to Iva, so they know who to target.

NICKY FOXLEY & TAYRA GATES vs. IVA KOLASKY & DELIA- 4.75/10
Kolasky started for her team and got the best of Gates. When Foxley got tagged in, she talked Kolasky into tagging Delia in… and, much to my surprise, Delia got the best of Foxley, too. Foxley managed to take Delia down by the hair to cut her off to start the heat. We got a decent heat to set up the hot tag to Kolasky, who took the heels out. She hit her moonsault on Foxley, but Delia tagged herself in as Foxley was climbing up and ran in and locked the Last Chancery to get her first win in wXw… and it sure seemed to me like she stole a win that Iva had secured, but it’s not provable.

ANDY JACKSON INTERVIEWS IVA KOLASKY & DELIA- fine
They both said that all that matters is that they won, so I guess Iva didn’t take the finish the way I did. Andy asked them about their opponents being more heelish than they were during their respective singles matches, but they both brushed it off.

LEVANIEL vs. NIKITA CHARISMA (w/Michael Schenkenberg)- 4/10
Both guys cut promos on their way to the ring. Levaniel was good. Charisma was meh.
They did some stuff. Charisma won after a distraction by Schenkenberg and a roll-up using illegal leverage via the ropes.

POST-MATCH SEGMENT- good
Rott & Flott bragged about the win. Levaniel confronted them about their cheating. Levaniel said he was tired of them interfering so he would just wrestle them himself. Jurn Simmons came out to volunteer to be Levaniel’s partner. Levaniel seemed entertainingly infatuated with Jurn.

DAN INTERVIEWS DENNIS “CASH” DULLNIG- good

FAST TIME MOODO vs. DENNIS “CASH” DULLNIG- 6.5/10
Moodo won a solid match cleanly, but considering how long their previous match went (and how good it was), this match getting six fewer minutes- and, as a result, not having the chance to deliver to the same level- made this feel like a step down.

CHRISTIAN BISCHOF’S INTERVIEW WITH FEYYAZ AGUILA IS INTERRUPTED BY AVALANCHE- fine
Feyyaz says that he can’t hide from Heisenberg anymore. He has to face him, even if it means getting his ass kicked.
Avalanche showed up and asked to how Feyyaz was given a spot in Shortcut to the Top when Avalanche specifically said that he wasn’t ready. Avalanche said that Feyyaz was not ready for Heisenberg and it would be in his best interest to not show up for next week’s match. Avalanche is coming off a little overbearing here, but they’ve spent so much time over the past fifteen months building up the fact that he really does care about his students that he doesn’t feel at all heelish or bullying here, but rather like a coach giving a trainee bluntly honest advice, not pulling any punches.

ANDY JACKSON INTERVIEWS SENZA VOLTO- not good
This was way too meandering. It needed to be a strong babyface promo about coming for the world champion.

DAN INTERVIEWS MARIUS AL-ANI- This was usual good arrogant heel stuff from Marius.

MARIUS AL-ANI vs. SENZA VOLTO- 7.5/10
Marius wins clean in 11:13. These two would have an amazing match if given the time, and ending Marius’ streak would pretty much make Senza as a top guy.

ANDY JACKSON INTERVIEWS MARIUS AL-ANI- more good heel stuff from Marius.

MARIUS AL-ANI UNDEFEATED STREAK VIDEO PACKAGE- fine

This was a meh episode of We Love Wrestling. Some of the storyline advancement was good, but in the ring it was quite weak.
