So now Sting can control TV screens? Oh come on!
OPENING SEGMENT- good… until Sting showed up. So Sting beat up Scott Steiner, Bubba Ray Dudley AND some other Immortal guys all by himself? While this is theoretically plausible, it is just bad booking… but that is the way that Immortal as a unit has been booked: The babyface just plows right through them… so they are never really a threat, which is a HUGE mistake. It is even worse in the case of Scott Steiner, a major star who has just joined the top heel faction in the company... and the first thing he does is get his ass kicked? WTF? That is terrible booking!
Then Sting uses his magic powers to create a black out and teleport into the ring to beat up Hogan. And here is where I go off topic a bit, and look at the issue presented by Sting’s superpowers. Why doesn’t he use them in every match? If having the TNA World Title is/was so important, as Sting claimed, why did he use his superpowers and make the lights shut off whenever Anderson was pinning him?
Anderson & Hogan were great though. That was a good segment. The Sting-Hogan part of this segment was also very good. Then the Immortal guys came out. First, Bubba calls Sting a “Zero” and a “Wanna-be.” So, Bubba, let me get this straight: You and your friends just got beaten up by a “Zero” and a Wanna-be?” Then Bubba says that he and Sting have never crossed path’s before. While my mind, like everyone else’s, automatically flashed back to Against All Odds 2009, when Bubba and Sting were part of the same PPV MAIN EVENT in a four way match for the TNA World Heavyweight Title (you know, where Bubba and Devon were part of a group feuding with Sting’s stable!) , a little thinking reveals that Bubba had a shot at Sting’s TNA World Heavyweight Title TWO MONTHS AGO ON IMPACT! Then Bubba plays the rest of the promo off for stupid comedy at a completely inappropriate time!
The result of this segment was a match (made, somehow, by Bubba, rather than by anyone with any official power) being booked between Sting and Scott Steiner as the main event of tonight’s show. Taz says that this is because “wrestling matters.” And here is one of the reasons why I can’t stand TNA and this slogan. If wrestling matters… don’t you think you should have the MAIN EVENT (never mind the rest of the card) figured out BEFORE THE SHOW STARTS?
BOUND FOR GLORY SERIES MATCH: Brother Devon vs. Samoa Joe- 5.25/10 for some good wrestling but WTF?! Joe gets pinned after a WEAK SLAM?! Are you kidding me?
IMMORTAL BACKSTAGE- TERRIBLE! This argument made NO SENSE. Steiner says that he needs more notice before wrestling Sting because they have history together and have faced each other so many times. Shouldn’t this mean that Steiner KNOWS STING BETTER and thus needs LESS time to prepare?
Then Bubba says that he couldn’t give Steiner advanced notice because he didn’t have Steiner’s cell phone number? WTF? The match was made on the spot… AND STEINER WAS RIGHT THERE WHEN IT WAS MADE?! How would having his cell phone number have made any difference whatsoever?
JOE AND KAZ SEGMENT- okay.
X-DIVISION SHOWCASE MATCH- Jimmy Yang vs. Low Ki vs. Matt Bentley- 6/10. I marked out hard for both Ki and Bentley.
JOE-KAZ BARFIGHT- I want to see wrestling, not barfights.
ELIMINATION TAG TEAM MATCH: Miss Tessmacher, Mickie James, & Tara vs. Angelina Love, Winter, & Madison Rayne- DUD! The whole thing with Madison stealing the pin doesn’t work because SHE ISN’T THE LEGAL WRESTLER! Also, there is a point where the referee should have DQed either Angelina or Winter for being in the ring for too long. They were both in there for at least two straight minutes! And then we get to the character assassination fiasco that was the last part of this match. We have seen Winter with so much control over Angelina… but now Angelina has a will of her own, while fighting who gets to pin the Knockouts Champion in a non-title match when one of them already has a title shot coming up? Rather than, say… when they were beating the crap out of Angelina’s best friend? WTF? And finally, Mickie James should not have won this match. If Mickie can get the win in a two-on-one after getting her ass kicked, what makes us think that Winter even stands a chance in a FAIR MATCH?
GUNNER PROMO- good
AJ-DANIELS CONTRACT SIGNING- good. Jerry Lynn played the role of the veteran, uber-babyface perfectly, and it was nice to see RVD back as the goofy, arrogant tweener that everyone loves despite his arrogance. Also, it was refreshing to see one of these NOT end with someone going through a table.
HOLY SH*T THAT 4 WAY MATCH WILL BE AWESOME!
BOUND FOR GLORY SERIES MATCH: AJ Styles vs. Gunner-5/10. The whole thing with Hebner counting “reluctantly” was moronic. He is a referee. If he didn’t see anything, he should just count the pin as normal. If he did see something, he should DO HIS JOB AND DISQUALIFY GUNNER!
VELVET SKY PROMO- crappy. Have you not been listening to anything that they have been saying? They aren’t going after you because they think you are weak! They are coming after you because they think you got them fired!
MEXICAN AMERICA SEGMENT- brutal. Now they are calling Hernandez their “president.” They also claim to have beaten a bunch of tag teams, when they really haven’t, which just pissed me off. Then the Brits came out and saved it. As if this couldn’t get any worse… Rob Terry came back.
JEFF & KAREN JARRETT PROMO- oh crap. I thought they we were done with this. And why did Jarrett say that they would “be home soon” and had “one more week in paradise?” The stip was for ONE WHOLE YEAR!
STING vs. SCOTT STEINER- 5.5/10 nowhere near good enough to be a main event. They have a show with “limited commercial interruptions” and give us a FIVE MINUTE MAIN EVENT? WTF?
IMMORTAL BEAT STING DOWN- I should care, but Sting has sucked so much this year that I am actually enjoying seeing him get an ass-whooping. Kurt then randomly makes the save.
Overall, another turd from TNA. Once again, the match of the night was put on by guys who aren’t even under TNA contract! TNA is atrocious.
Stupid Announcer Quotes:
1. Tenay- “Next on Impact Wrestling, it’s time for the return of the Bound For Glory Series”- Return? It was just on the show last week? That’s not much of a return. By that logic, EVERYTHING should be “returning.”
2. Both Taz and Tenay keep referring to a guy earning an “Impact Wrestling contract”- Impact Wrestling is the name of THE SHOW. The name of the company is TNA WRESTLING! The contract is with TNA, not with Impact! If it was, then that guy could only wrestle on Impact, but not on PPV, Xplosion, or house shows.
3. Tenay- “It might be smarter to just stay out on the apron and let the competition eliminate each other”- It’s a TAG TEAM MATCH! The only people the competition can eliminate is YOUR TEAMMATES!
4. Taz- “I love the spirit of competition, but I’m not one who goes and fights with my friends” you clearly don’t understand the spirit of competition. It’s not a fight, it is a wrestling match!

it's times like these you start to wonder why Joe is still with TNA. I hope this loosing streak will lead to something.Big Red Machine wrote:
