10 years ago, Booker T. ARRIVED in the WWE, but it was 5 years ago that Booker T. became known as King Booker
It all started in 2005 when Booker T. and his wife Sharmell turned heel on Chris Benoit after winning the WWE U.S. Heavyweight Championship
When the title was vacant, SD! GM Teddy Long made it a Best of 7 Series to determine the Undisputed U.S. Heavyweight Champion and on the 2nd SD! of 2006, Randy Orton who subbed for Booker T. def. Chris Benoit after Booker attacked him and as a result, Booker T. won the U.S. Title for a 4th time and @ SD!'s No Way Out, Benoit def. Booker T. to regain the U.S. Heavyweight Title for a 4th time and afterwards, Booker T. & Sharmell would compete against The Infamous Boogieman @ Wrestlemania 22
But it was @ SD!'s Judgment Day when Booker T. won the 2006 King of the Ring and soon, King Booker was born
@ The Great American Bash in 2006, with the help from Chavo Guerrero, King Booker def. Rey Mysterio to win the WORLD Heavyweight Championship for the very 1st time ending Rey Mysterio's World Title Reign if 16 weeks
This was his 1st WORLD Title in nearly 5 years
and soon, Booker T. would soon feud with The Return of The Animal known as Batista
@ Summerslam 19, Booker T. was DQ'd, but retained the World Heavyweight Championship, but then, @ SD!'s No Mercy, Booker was scheduled to face Bobby Lashley one on one for the World Title, but then, it was changed to a Fatal 4-Way with Batista and WCW Alumni Finlay added to the mix
Booker would def. The Animal, Lashley and The Irishman to retain the World Title, but then, @ Cyber Sunday, Booker won the 1st ever Champion of Champions Match in which he retained the World Title against then-WWE Heavyweight Champion John Cena and then-ECW World Heavyweight Champion and WCW Alumni The Big Show
Booker won thanks to outside interference from Kevin Federline
@ the 20th Annual WWE Survivor Series, Booker T. would face Batista and it was Batista's Last Chance and The Animal used the belt on Booker T.'s Head and as a result, The Animal retained the World Heavyweight Championship for a 2nd time in the town where he vacated the belt-Philadelphia, PA
King Booker held the Big Gold Belt for 18 consecutive weeks
@ SD!'s Armageddon, King Booker teamed up with WCW Alumni Finlay against WWE Heavyweight Champion John Cena and WORLD Heavyweight Champion Batista
The Champ & The Animal def. The King and The Irishman in a Tag Team Main Event Match
In 2007, King Booker would soon Feud w/Kane @ the Royal Rumble, King Booker and Kane Feuded on the Outside and @ No Way Out (The Final SD! Brand PPV) The Big Red Machine def. King Booker
@ Wrestlemania 23, Booker T. competed in the 8-Man Money in the Bank Ladder Match against Edge, CM Punk, The Hardys, Finlay, Mr. Anderson and Randy Orton
Anderson who was then known as Mr. Kennedy won Money in the Bank
His Last SD! Match was after Wrestlemania 23 against CM Punk
and @ the end of that night, King Booker tried to attack the World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker, but Taker took out King Booker with a Tombstone Pile Driver
and 2 months later, King Booker and Queen Sharmell moved to RAW and @ Night of Champions I, Booker T. competed for the WWE Heavyweight Championship against John Cena, Mick Foley, Bobby Lashley and Randy Orton
Cena won the match and soon, King Booker would soon feud with Jerry "The King" Lawler and Triple H
His last match on RAW was against John Cena after Summerslam 20
Booker T. and Sharmell asked for their release from the WWE, Booker T. claimed that he enjoyed being on SD!, but didn't like the move to RAW
and soon, they would sign up w/Dixie Carter and Jeff Jarrett's Total Nonstop Action Wrestling and they made their debut @ the 3rd Annual WWE genesis PPV
Booker T. would turn heel 6 months later and in October of 2008 on the very 1st IMPACT Broadcast in HD Live From Las Vegas, Booker T. and Sharmell joined the Main Event Mafia in which he would become the 1st ever TNA Legends Champion and in 2009, he and Scott Steiner held the TNA World Tag Team Championship
After losing the titles @ Bound For Glory V in L.A., Booker T. and Sharmell left TNA, but they left on Good Terms
This year, Booker T. made his return to the WWE and he also made his return to SD! for the 1st time in nearly 4 years
and today, Booker T. is now doing commentary for Friday Night Smackdown! alongside Josh Mathews and Michael Cole
The King Booker Gimmick was based on the idea of SD!'s Head Booker Michael "P.S." Hayes of The Fabulous Freebirds
