Following the success of our Alternative WrestleMania Match feature, now in its third year, Diva Dirt is pleased to announce the launch of the Alternative SummerSlam Match — providing fans of women’s wrestling an opportunity to sample a full length match from the best of the independents, and provide a suitable alternative to WWE’s often lack of Diva action at one of the biggest shows of the year.
This year, we are pleased to team with SHIMMER Women Athletes and ClickWrestle to present, for free, one of the biggest main events in SHIMMER history — a blockbuster eight-woman elimination match from SHIMMER Volume 36.
This huge main event match, also known as “SHIMvivor Series”, due to its similarity to the traditional Survivor Series match format, saw then-SHIMMER Champion Madison Eagles team with Sara Del Rey, Daizee Haze and Tomoka Nakagawa to take on the team of Serena Deeb, Cheerleader Melissa, Ayumi Kurihara and Ayako Hamada.
This can’t-miss match will be streamed exclusively via Diva Dirt for 48 hours from midnight (Eastern time) on Saturday, August 18th through midnight on Monday, August 20th.

Following disappointing buildup and disappointing matches at WWE events in years past, Diva Dirt has taken it upon ourselves to present an alternative for all of you female wrestling addicts! Don’t get us wrong — we love us some Divas, obviously — but rather than being disappointed by WWE’s mishandling of them, we’re offering you the chance to sample a high quality match worthy of the WrestleMania stage.
The Alternative SummerSlam Match will:
* Give you an opportunity to try something new. As opposed to the wrestling that is on TV, this is your chance to check out some of the other promotions out there. Each year, we select a match that speaks volumes about the quality of our partner promotion.
* Shine a spotlight on great women’s wrestling. Sometimes two-to-three minutes just isn’t enough. See what women can do given 20-30 minutes!
* Introduce you to new names/faces. While some of you will be familiar with independent promotions and independent wrestlers, many may not. This is a chance to get to know some of the talented ladies outside of WWE and TNA.
