REVIVAL PROMO- I wonder what these guys think of Will Ospreay vs. Ricochet.
They cut a good promo on American Alpha. Then Gargano and Ciampa showed and people threw around insider terms. Dash and Dawson were actually pretty good on the mic here. Corey Graves was also pretty great. This all resulted in Ciampa and Gargano physically getting the best of The Revival. The Revival said they wanted a match against Gargano & Ciampa tonight.
NAKAMURA INTERVIEW- meh. Yes really.
BUDDY MURPHY vs. TYE DILLENGER- 4.25/10
Corey Graves said “we don’t see Alexa out here, and that’s a problem.”
Word.
The fans chanted “TEN!” for Dillenger, which is also equal to ten plus the number of sh*ts I gave about this match or anyone in it.
During this match, the announcers told us that Regal had booked the Ciampa & Gargano vs. Revival match as the main event. It’s so nice to see a promotion that does this sort of thing right instead of having everyone just assume that any challenge the wrestlers make is automatically an official match.
COREY GRAVES SIT-DOWN INTERVIEW WITH FINN BALOR & SAMOA JOE- GREAT!
Joe in particular was awesome.
AUSTIN ARIES vs. “THE DRIFTER” ELIAS SAMPSON- 5.75/10
Aries wins with the Last Chancery. He cut a quick promo on Nakamura after the match.
CIEN ALMAS WILL DEBUT AT THE TAKEOVER SPECIAL- sure. Why not?
THE REVIVAL vs. TOMMASO CIAMPA & JOHNNY GARGANO- 6.25/10
This looked like it was going to be a good match but then they did my least favorite finish (the small package after taking a superplex) completely out of nowhere. Ciampa and Gargano winning doesn’t make much sense. The Revival beat Ciampa and Gargano up afterwards. They were going to break Ciampa’s leg like they did to Cass but American Alpha came out to make the save and we had a big brawl that American Alpha got the best of.
WOMEN’S TITLE CONTRACT SIGNING- great
Nia cut a great promo. Asuka responded with a good one and slapped Nia. Nia laid Asuka out with a powerbomb.
An effective go-home show from NXT.

Gargano and Ciampa winning may not make much sense in terms of charting momentum, but I think this is a pretty good idea. They need to at least establish a #2 babyface team, and both guys are going into the Crusierweight deal soon, so they might as well get some TV wins.

That #2 babyface team should be TM61.NWK2000 wrote:Gargano and Ciampa winning may not make much sense in terms of charting momentum, but I think this is a pretty good idea. And now that I think about it, they need some heel teams, too. I think all they have right now is The Revival.

Why would TM61 be the #2 babyface team? They're a good team, but they debuted a week ago. Gargano and Ciampa have been on NXT for a while now.Big Red Machine wrote:That #2 babyface team should be TM61.NWK2000 wrote:Gargano and Ciampa winning may not make much sense in terms of charting momentum, but I think this is a pretty good idea. They've been there for a while but haven't really been pushed as a team. More importantly, though, TM61 have been teaming for years and thus already have the chemistry and cohesiveness that Gargano and Ciampa have yet to develop.NWK2000 wrote:Why would TM61 be the #2 babyface team?
