SILAS YOUNG vs. MICHAEL ELGIN- 6.75/10
Great opener! Elgin looked great, as usual, and Silas looked very impressive in defeat.

ADAM COLE PROMO- okay

JAY LETHAL HYPES UP NEXT WEEKEND’S LIVE SHOW- good.

CHARLIE HAAS PROMO- eh. This was all of the stuff you expect to hear from someone who just broke up a long-standing tag team. “I carried you” “you held me down” “I’m better” etc.etc. It might have been better if Charlie could actually get the date for the iPPV right.

CHARLIE HAAS vs. GRIZZLY REDWOOD- no rating. Okay segment.
Haas pretty much squashes Grizz, but won’t release the Haas of Pain at the end of the match, leading to Mike Mondo coming out to make the save.

VEDA SCOTT INTERVIEWS MIKE MONDO- wow. The Chicago crowd actually seems to give a damn about Mondo.

SCUM SEGMENT- SCUM (aside from Steen) then shows up, beats down Mondo and Grizz, and takes Veda hostage… and when I say that they take Veda hostage, I mean Compton was choking her and Corino threatened to do grievous bodily harm to her if the babyfaces came any closer. THIS is the sort of stuff that TNA should have been doing every time that they had Aces & Eights threatening Brooke. This was done to give Corino an advantageous negotiating position, from when he managed to negotiate that next week SCUM guys will wrestle on OH TV. A pretty good segment, that gave a bit more fuel to the fire that would eventually become the Mondo & Grizz vs. SCUM match in Asheville next weekend at ROH War.

WINNER GETS AN ROH TV TITLE MATCH AT SUPERCARD OF HONOR VII: Adam Cole vs. Matt Hardy (w/Steve Corino)- 6.5/10
It’s pretty clear that they were holding back here, but they got the hate across well, and I’m still excited for the blow-off to this feud, whenever it might come. The match ends when Rhino Gores Cole in view of the ref causing a DQ. After that Coleman and Alexander come out and attack Rhino, but they get beaten down by all of SCUM until the babyfaces show up and we close the show with a big brawl, which did a nice job of setting the tone for next week’s ROH vs. SCUM show (as well as the live event in Asheville entitled War).

Overall, a very good show from ROH. They are doing a very good job with this whole SCUM angle.
