In ETT5 we celebrate WCW. WCW had two kinds of themes, the ones we'd heard in our favorite pornographic features and one's that sounded kind of like ones we'd heard on the radio. We're focusing on the latter here in a concept brought to us by our very own EC, and it should be a lot of fun. Here's the bracket:

The Artist is pretty obvious if you know the original tune. But I'll be surprised if anyone gets Knobb's theme without cheating, as the similarities are clearly there, but it's a stretch and it was done by a One Hit Wonder.

Prince Iaukea has got to be Purple Rain.

As for Knobs, can't quite place it.

Its amazing, how much WCW ripped off songs for their wrestlers themes and we've not even mentioned Sting using Seek and Destroy by Metallica Or Shane Douglas's remix of Deep Purples Perfect Strangers!!!

I'll let the bracket speak for itself. Some great competition on the left, and some blow-outs on the right. Brian Knobbs didn't get a single vote, but his theme certainly generated the most discussion. A valiant effort by Cero, Joker nailed TAFKAPI's theme, but ultimately BBBD wins the game. Brian Knobb's Theme is indeed a take on My Sharona by The Knack. Have a listen! Great job BBBD! The game might be over, but the Tourny lives! On to the Semi's!

The Ice hockey team I follow had a player called Jeff Hereema and his name was sung to it every time he scored. Listened to Knobbs theme and it sounded similar!!

FINAL ROUND! Steiner over Jericho and DDP over JJ both by a score of 2 votes to 1, which puts Rick Steiner's 'Welcome to the Dogpound' vs DDP and 'Smells Like a High Five'
