Eh. I gave it 9.5. I think I would have given it a 10 if Kota had won. Kota not winning made the story feel incomplete, IMO.

I felt it was ok for Nakamura to win after all, it's their first bout for the title, I think Ibushi could take a rematch and build up a stronger feud. Even then, a 9.5 is pretty strong. Looking forward to reading your full review. I'm planning one, but since i watched the show at midnight in japanese, i figure i'll rewatch the JR/Striker version and write the review then

I watched the English one, so I haven't seen the battle royale yet. From what I've seen, most people are giving the two main events 10/10. I didn't. I might rewatch the main event though. I'm not sure why I didn't give it a 10/10 other than it just "felt" like a 9.5 to me, but I've been a quest recently to rewatch a bunch of matches that I felt that way about, so maybe I'll change my mind.

I think part of it was that Okada didn't get to show off the new move he had been teasing (which really makes more sense to save for next match now that the Rainmaker has been kicked out of).

JR & Striker said that this was the first time anyone had kicked out of the Rainmaker, but I'm pretty sure Tanahashi already kicked out of it in one of their other matches.

i thought it was the first time too, i could be wrong.

I also didn't give it a 10 yet, I want to rewatch it, it was 4 in the morning when i saw it. But i felt it was a weird match somewhat, it was mostly Tana destroying Okada, he dominated all match, I even felt for a second that they were doing a double turn because Tana was vicious and I started to feel bad for Okada. kinda like Ziggler/Del Rio. I'm sure rewatching it, i'll be able to appreciate more stuff.

LOL. It was 5:30 am when I finished watching it last night.

I didn't feel that way because Okada was destroying Tanahashi in the beginning, and that Tombstone on the ramp was particularly vicious.

I lost all hope of them doing a double turn in the King of Pro Wrestling 2013 match when Tanahashi faked an injury early on to let him get an advantage and work over Okada's knee, and somehow this didn't turn Tanahashi heel.
