As I broke in the Elite section of PWInsider.com on Monday, if you are a CM Punk fan and have copies of the WWE comic book that Papercutz have been publishing, you are in luck, because WWE has requested that Punk be removed from all reprints and trade paperback collections of the series going forward.
Punk will be removed from the original artwork with another WWE performer replacing him in the books when they are reprinted. Punk was heavily featured in the first three storyline arcs of the book.
It's a pretty unusual move for the comic book world, but shows how deep the "cold war" between Punk and WWE runs as obviously WWE would have to pay Punk royalties on his name and likeness in reprints of the book. Of course, Punk is now writing for DC and Marvel comics.
