Witness the fallout from ROH's 13TH ANNIVERSARY on March 7th when THE CONQUEST TOUR hits Baltimore! We could be in the midst of major changes in Ring of Honor, with all the titles on the line in Las Vegas. March 7th in Baltimore is a can't miss event and it will present a HUGE opportunity for The Kingdom!

- MICHAEL BENNETT & MATT TAVEN w/MARIA KANELLIS vs. THE YOUNG BUCKS

Michael Bennett and Matt Taven are a relatively new tag team, but in the short time they've been working together, they have become an amazingly cohesive unit! Although most disagree with the tactics and arrogance of The Kingdom, there's absolutely no denying they are on their way to ROH World Tag Team gold if they continue on this path. And now in Baltimore they'll face current IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions, The Young Bucks!

I'm not sure that it is. At least Winter Warriors makes some sense. In this case, though... what are they conquering? It's like those two "Revolution" shows from 2011. The name made no sense at all. It was just something intended to sound cool.

JOE vs O'REILLY!!!

Ring Of Honors 13th Anniversary Pay Per View saw the return of the former ROH World Champion Samoa Joe!

The raucous crowd in Sin City listened intently as he made it known that he is coming back for the championship which he held for a record setting 645 days!

That path starts this Saturday night in Baltimore against one half of the ROH World Tag Team Champions, Kyle O'Reilly. This is a dream match-up for many. The two have very similar hard hitting, MMA based styles. O'Reilly is clearly an elite tag team wrestler as one half of reDRagon. A win over the record setting former world champion would add to O'Reilly's already impressive resume. The Samoan Submission Machine is not coming home to lose! He is here to regain the ROH World Championship. Can O'Reilly stop him? Can anyone stop him?

BREAKING NEWS: After suffering an injury at the 13TH ANNIVERSARY pay-per-view, TOMMASO CIAMPA has not been cleared to compete this Saturday in Baltimore. Ciampa was scheduled to face current IWGP Heavyweight Champion AJ STYLES in a first-time-ever contest. Unfortunately, Ciampa was injured during the "Winner Takes All" World Championship in Las Vegas. One of the most ferocious competitors in the world, Tommaso Ciampa gives 110% to every single match, but this time the consequences have put him on the shelf.

It was up Nigel McGuinness to determine a suitable replacement for Ciampa. After much deliberation, McGuinness decided to present another unique matchup featuring a legendary ROH mainstay. His choice presents an intriguing styles clash (no pun intended):

MARK BRISCOE vs. “THE PHENOMENAL” AJ STYLES

The favorite sons of Sandy Fork have been holding down Ring of Honor since day one! As a team, they are record-holding tag team champions. Currently, older brother Jay Briscoe is in his second reign as ROH World Champion. But on March 7th, it's baby brother Mark's turn to shock the world!

Mark Briscoe is coming off a hard fought loss to Moose after an incredibly physical match that spilled into the ringside area. But you can't keep Chicken down for long! Many claim that AJ Styles is the absolute best professional wrestler on the planet today. There is no question that Styles as at the peak of his career.

Mark Briscoe's legacy as a singles competitor will take a huge step forward in Baltimore! Styles mixes technical proficiency with high risk offense unlike anyone else in the world. But he hasn't taken on ANYONE like the Master of Redneck Kung Fu! You can still get tickets and see this live! For tickets to our next ROH Television Taping in Baltimore, click HERE.

Given Delirious is the Lizard Man I think it's more likely Compton got photos of Delirious blowing a lizard but yea Compton has got to have something over Delirious to keep getting booked by ROH even after he keeps sucking like he does

Compton faces Lethal in Chicago.
In much more interesting news, Roppongi Vice are getting one of those stupid "Instant Reward" Proving Ground matches because Delirious can't be bothered to actually build anyone up properly.

Apparently Sydal was also scheduled to be in one of those dumb "Instant Reward" Proving Ground matches against Jay, but because he is injured, they are signing a four-way Instant Reward Proving Ground match... except that Jay's not involved so it's really just a #1 contender ship match where you get a title shot later in the night, and the Lizard Man can't keep his match names straight (which really does irk me).
The competitors there will be: Mark Briscoe vs. Matt Taven vs. Silas Young vs. Roddy.

Look... obviously this isn't the right show to put a big world title match on because Joe vs. Elgin HAS to be the main event, but that doesn't mean that you can't use Jay's match for something that's actually productive- and having Jay the babyface champion face off against a guy who already wrestled isn't productive. And especially not with these four:
Silas- just coming back from an injury, so him winning here and then losing to Jay does nothing.
Mark- could win, but I think that Mark vs. Jay should be done rarely and kept special.
Taven- we've seen him face a Briscoe too many times recently. If this feud is finished (which we were promised it was), then don't give him a title shot.
Roddy- has said he wants to win the world title this year, but that should make his eventual title shot a big match- not something to be thrown away here.

So what would I do here? Simple: Put Jay in a Four Corner Survival with these guys (let's say all but Taven) or bring in a sixth guy and make it a scramble match (in fact, ideally, you'd bring Lethal in to make it a six man scramble and then just don't book Compton). This way you avoid a match with the obnoxiously predictable outcome that Jay's title defense here would have, and can set someone up as a challenger by having them get a win in a match involving Jay without actually having Jay eat the pin.
I think it'd be really interesting to tell a story that revolves around the Briscoes working together, but then Mark tags himself in and steals a pin, which can set up some friction between them and build to a Briscoe vs. Briscoe title match in the late spring, perhaps Amarillo or Oklahoma City (and then if Jay is defending against a heel with a pal at BITW, you can have said heel and his pal attack the Briscoes after the match to build up to a tag team main event on the next set of shows).

Here is the finalized card for Milwaukee
[quote=www.ROHWrestling.com]
-JUST SIGNED-
JOSH ALEXANDER VS. "UNBREAKABLE" MICHAEL ELGIN

Originally, Elgin was set to face Matt Sydal in Milwaukee. His unfortunate injury forced a change in plans...and Nigel McGuinness has decided to sign a completely unexpected new match! We have seen Josh Alexander in tag team action, but on Match 13th he faces the singles challenge of a former ROH World Champion who knows him all too well: MICHAEL ELGIN. Elgin and Alexander have trained and traveled together for years. But since he lost his title we've seen an entirely new side to the former champion, a side that's less honorable and more paranoid. The fans have been asking for Josh Alexander's return, and in Milwaukee he gets the chance to impress against the best.

RODERICK STRONG VS. ARIYA DAVARI

On March 13th, an ROH newcomer takes on Mr. ROH himself! Ariya Davari is a standout in the Midwest professional wrestling scene. Recently, he so thoroughly impressed trainers at an ROH camp that he was granted this gigantic opportunity. Now in Milwaukee he tests his skills against the man often called the "gatekeeper" of Ring of Honor: Triple Crown Champion RODERICK STRONG. An impressive showing here could lead to even bigger and better things for Davari...but Mr. ROH isn't going to make it easy for him!

MARK BRISCOE VS. BEER CITY BRUISER

Although he came up short in the 2015 TOP PROSPECT TOURNAMENT, the Beer City Bruiser left an indelible impression on ROH. The beer swilling big man is unconventional, to say the least, and now he's set to face another athlete who defies convention: MARK BRISCOE! But in addition to his wildman antics, Mark Briscoe is a seasoned veteran and record-holding ROH Tag Team Champion. This match definitely won't be pretty!

RPG VICE VS. THE DECADE

Now that Alex Koslov's unfortunate injury has forced him to take an indefinite hiatus from professional wrestling, Rocky Romero was left to fend for himself without his Forever Hooligans cohort. To everyone's surprise, Romero revealed on the 13TH ANNIVERSARY pay-per-view that he's secured the services of a new partner, a man who has been much in demand from ROH fans: BARETTA! But the newly minted Roppongi Vice have their first match in ROH against a team who have been vocal and abusive toward "outsiders," The Decade. We're sure The Decade will roll out the welcome wagon for Baretta like only they can!

ACH VS. SAMOA JOE

In Baltimore, Samoa Joe made his ROH in-ring return against Kyle O'Reilly in a hard-hitting, ground and pound WAR that showed us all that Joe has not missed a step! Samoa Joe has his sights set squarely on the ROH World Champion. But the path to Jay Briscoe is blocked by other ROH stars who want their chance to step into the ring against an absolute legend. In Milwaukee, the high flying, frenetic ACH will take to the skies against the "Samoan Submission Machine!

CHAMPIONS CHALLENGE
reDRagon VS. JAY LETHAL & JAY BRISCOE

In this unique contest, all the champions in ROH will face off in one ring! You have to wonder how big of an advantage reDRagon will have in this contest: not only are they a cohesive unit who have teamed for years, their opponents aren't exactly best of friends. Jay Lethal believes he is the BEST wrestler in ROH and therefore the BEST Champion in the locker room - and World Champion Jay Briscoe won't take that insinuation lying down! But Lethal and Briscoe also know that they need to figure out how to work together to edge out a victory over what may be the best tag team on the planet!

PLUS…Matt Taven, Silas Young, and MORE!

1. Hopefully this is the last time we'll ever see the Beer City Bruiser in ROH

2. If you're going to bill the main event as a "champions challenge" then just call the show Champions' Challenge II (though ideally this would be Clash of the Champions so that whichever show Lethal and Briscoe face off at could be Champions' Challenge II as it would be TV Champ vs. World Champ just like the original Champions' Challenge show [and you could also stick a tough tag title defense on their], but that would require both guys to still be champions when that show occurs, which you might not be in the cards).

3. Anyone else think we'll be getting a unification match? I don't think it's a good idea, but that seems to be exactly where they're heading and they're certainly building up to it well (and, as a trivia note, winning the world title would make Jay Lethal the only person to ever hold ALL FIVE titles ROH has ever had).

1. is it weird that his match with Briscoe is in the top three that i wanna watch? I just feel those two are gonna have a really fun interaction

3. Can't really say, part of me likes the idea, but then do they come up with a new midcard title? or is that it? having said that, judging from the annyversary show, i think that Lethal is the best option to dethrone Jay

1. Not really, considering that there are only six matches and two of them involve a big name taking on a relative unknown and there is also a new tag team from New Japan taking on the completely expendable Decade.
I agree that this is by far the most fun interaction the Beer City Bruiser can have... the problem is that it is THE ONLY fun interaction for him to have (aside from maybe reDRagon cutting a promo on him).

3. That's exactly it. They'd pointlessly get rid of a perfectly good midcard title, which seems like it would be a big detriment in the long run. I kind of agree with you about Lethal dethroning Briscoe, although part of me REALLY wants to see a Roddy title run. Looking at his ROH and PWG stuff recently and reading about some of his Evolve stuff, he finally seems to have really found himself as a character outside of the ring, and I'd love to see this kind of a dick but still honorable Roderick Strong just run around with the ROH World Title pulling awesome matches out of absolutely everybody.
I also think it'd be pretty cool to have Joe win the belt and hold it for a while, but that is provided that they have a guarantee he'll be around for a long while. He would also be a great candidate to feud with Lethal because Jay working with Truth and cheating to win matches and thinking that money is more important than honor is a perfect extension of the feud they never got to finish in 2006 because Lethal left for TNA (although that angle doesn't actually need any title involved in it at all).
