PENTAGON JR. MEETS ITH HIS MASTER- good
I liked the atmosphere and I got what they were going for by using Vampiro’s shoot name. It just came off as weird. I think this would have worked better if they had had Vampiro spend most of the series preferring to be called “Ian” because Vampiro is the dark place he goes to when he needs to get into the ring and hurt people and that’s not who he is anymore.
This scene also confirmed to us that Pentagon Jr.’s master is a real person rather than a delusion of his imagination.

THE MACK vs. CAGE- 4.75/10
Short, but a fun opener that ties up a previously loose end.

CATRINA & SON OF HAVOK (& IVELISSE & ANGELICO) SEGMENT- PERFECT.
This was ominous and hilarious and character-driven all at the same time. Was anyone else ready to pop because you thought Ivelisse was going to slug Catrina in the face?

ULTIMA-LUCHA MATCH ANNOUNCEMENTS- good.

VAMPIRO & PENTAGON JR. INTERVIEW SEGMENT- pretty good.

MIL MUERTES (w/Catrina) vs. SON OF HAVOC (w/Ivelisse & Angelico)- 5.25/10
More important is the stuff that happened on the outside, which felt a bit unnecessary to set up a tag title match because of the segment two weeks ago (unless they are building up to some big spot where Ivelisse takes out Catrina, because that was what was about to happen before the Catrina summoned the Disciples of Death to make the save).
It wasn’t bad… it just felt unnecessary. Which would have been fine except we still don’t even know what the teams are for this huge eight-man tag team main event.

TEXANO JR. THE CREW, & BLUE DEMON JR. SEGMENT- basically they did the exact same segment as they did in the second episode when Chavo first saved Blue Demon Jr., then turned on him. Why? Because things have now come full circle, except this time Chavo is in Dario’s role while Demon himself has been manipulated into doing to Texano exactly what Chavo did to him.

TEAM JOHNNY (Johnny Mundo, Hernandez, Jack Evans, & Super Fly) vs. TEAM ALBERTO (Alberto El Patron, Sexy Star, Drago, & Aerostar)- 6.75/10
I was pretty disappointed that we didn’t get vignettes of people being recruited to the teams. This felt like when WWE just throws a bunch of feuds together for a Survivor Series match with no build or interactions whatsoever, and as result, nobody cares.
The match itself was also pretty disappointing, both from an action standpoint and from a promoting standpoint, as the announcers failed to push the match-ups here that would be seen at Ultima Lucha and in general the various dislikes between the competitors in the match.

They are promoting a “face to face confrontation” for next week between Prince Puma and Mil Muertes. Promoting a “face to face confrontation” feels very un-Lucha Undergroun-WHOA! PENTAGON JR. JUST SNUCK UP BEHIND THEM AND KICKED VAMPIRO IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD! CHAIRSHOTS! Now THAT was a big moment.
AND IT’S NOT OVER! He’s got a can of gasoline and he’s dumping it on Vamp! He tells Vamp that he has one week to accept his challenge for a match at Ultima Lucha or else Pentagon Jr. will SET VAMPIRO ON FIRE!
This was quite the heavy angle. Good stuff, which pretty much saved this show from feeling like disappointing filler.
