DUSTY RHODES TAG TEAM CLASSIC RECAP- Jordan & Gable beat the Hype Bros.

DUSTY RHODES TAG TEAM CLASSIC SECOND(?) ROUND MATCH: Samoa Joe & Finn Balor vs. Colin Cassady & Enzo Amore (w/Carmella)- 4.75/10

TOMMASO CIAMPA & JOHNNY GARGANO PROMO- decent. Apparently Gargano will wrestle Apollo Crews tonight. Tyler Breeze shows up and says that he wants to wrestle Ciampa because Ciampa is a friend of Crews and therefore an enemy of Tyler’s.

JOHNNY GARGANO vs. APOLLO CREWS- 6.25/10
Very good for the time it got. I can’t imagine that they are letting Gargano look so good on TV if they aren’t going to sign him.

REGAL BACKSTAGE WITH DANA BROOKE & EMMA- Regal announces that Dana will face Asuka at Takeover. Dana blows this news off, so Regal shows them footage of Asuka and they become scared. During this segment I realized how much of an afterthought Emma has become. I had hoped they would do something to revamp her character- hopefully building off of her failure on the main roster- but instead she is just standing the background doing her awkward giggle at Dana’s jokes and making awkward comments. What a waste.

DANA BROOKE & EMMA vs. BILLIE KAY & PEYTON ROYCE- 4.75/10
Kay and Royce have matching gear. I’ve really been liking Royce’s RVD-esque “kicks instead of punches” offense. That botch was pretty ugly, though. The match was a lot more competitive than I thought it would be, although as a whole I thought the match was entirely pointless and thus a poor choice for the go-home show for Takeover: Respect.

DEVIN INTERVIEWS JORDAN & GABLE- good. Then Dash and Dawson showed up and they were both lame and annoying.

TYLER BREEZE vs. TOMMASO CIAMPA- 5.5/10
Tyler Breeze won with the Unprettier. I absolutely love the idea of Breeze hitting a move that he thinks will make people uglier. Can you imagine how awesome it will be when someone hits it on him?!

RHYNO & CORBIN PROMO- okay

SASHA VS. BAYLER VIDEO PACKAGE- this went on for WAY too long and that ending with Bayley talking about how she wants everyone to respect women’s wrestling felt WAY too heavy-handed.

A rather boring show from NXT that did a mediocre job as a go-home show.
