Don’t cross the boss.

That seems to be the message Vince McMahon is sending to his roster in a bizarre decision about one of his Superstars.

Titus O’Neil was originally suspended 90 days for an incident involving WWE CEO Vince McMahon at the very end of Daniel Bryan’s retirement ceremony Monday night on Raw.

O’Neil grabbed McMahon’s arm as Vince passed by to exit the stage, drawing in McMahon for a face-to-face moment. It’s unclear what Titus’s motivation was for grabbing McMahon’s arm. McMahon was caught off-guard as he spun around, but everyone around them seemed to take it as good-natured fun. But, McMahon was angered by it, prompting the suspension.

However, the New York Post reported late Wednesday that the Stamford-based organization had scaled back the ban to 60 days.

There was backlash the suspension was racially motivated. WWE denied that to the Post.

“The suspension of Titus O’Neil had nothing to do with race and everything to do with unprofessional conduct,” WWE said in a statement.

The Post added that WWE claims O’Neil “acknowledged the gravity of his mistake” in a text message.

“I feel like sh** now so if you have to let me go, I understand. Stupid mistake,” he wrote, according to WWE.

O’Neil was going to be fired over the issue by McMahon. However, both Triple H and Joey Mercury talked him out of terminating his contract, which is why the suspension was so high originally.

it's crazy how close this man was from getting fired.

Titus acted unprofessionally. If I grab my boss in this manner and she's not happy. I'm suspended pending investigation and potentially on my way to being fired.

I don't feel it's a sackable offence BUT there had to be a punishment.

It seems to me it only caught him by surprise so it kind of just naturally startled him.

Who seriously though this was a work? I know I was joking about it being a work because how could you not? It's that ridiculous of a situation.

Well what I read was that Titus was trying to hug him or shake his hand or something. Sure, he shouldn't have grabbed Vince, but it's not worth firing him over.

I agree that it's not worth firing him over (suspend him for a month AT MOST if you are really looking to send a message), but from what I got watching the clip, he grabbed Vince by the arm from behind, like you do to spend a guy around he's facing you before you start punching him.

I heard Titus said 'ladies first' as he grabbed Vince's arm, insinuating Vince should let Stephanie walk ahead.
Either way, its an absolute overreaction.

When I read yalls initial comments on the situation, I saw two or three folks call it a work. Couldn't tell if y'all were being sarcastic or not.

I certainly was kidding. If this was a work, they wouldn't do it with Titus freakin' O'Neil. They'd use Ziggler or someone like that.

Sending a message too that Vince is WAY above the Superstars and therefore they can't go to him with any concerns or questions about anything. Which is, in my opinion, the worst kind of boss.
