I can't think how this match would make any sense, but fucking A it could be great. Ospreay, Damo, Havok, Bram, and Young!

This is a waste of Osprey. As for the others... Damo and Havok have each had ONE MATCH in TNA... and both of them lost. Damo's was even a shot at this very title... and Bram hasn't won recently, either. This is standard TNA pointless gimmick match, pointless title shot for guys who actually diminish the title by receiving a shot at it. They never have learned and they never ever will.

Ospreay actually recorded a full mini feud with Mandrews, but since NJPW signed him, TNA decided to use it for Xplosion since they didn't want to build up Ospreay since he was going to japan

That doesn't mean this isn't a waste of him. Why would you stick Ospreay in this clusterf*ck (which probably won't get more than ten minutes in which he will be one of five guys doing things and which doesn't even play to his strengths) instead of having him wrestle (and put over) one of the Wolves or Tigre Uno or Trevor Lee?

He already did, they just didn't show those matches. This is the final taping and they just added them to the match, bigger waste would be not to use them at all

You said he was feuding with Mandrews. That's still a f*cking waste. How do you have Will Ospreay on your show and not have him face Trevor Lee?

Because both mandrews and Ospreay are UK guys and after BOLA, that is a match I'd love to try and get

I haven't seen much of Mandrews outside of TNA, but if he is doing his TNA fourteen year old Dynamic Dudes mark gimmick, then I don't want to see him at all.
Also... you and I watched BOLA, but I'm willing to wager that at least 80% of TNA's audience hasn't seen anything out of Mandews other than being a jobber, so the best way to get a big match out of Ospreay is to stick him with Trevor Lee or Tigre Uno instead of Mandrews.

but they have seen less of Ospreay for that matter, at least Mandrews has been wrestling in the UK longer than Ospreay. I don't think it matters if the match is 'big' as long as it's awesome, which they could achieve between Ospreay and Mandrews. I'm not disagreeing that it wasn't a waste of Ospreay, because it was, but not for the reasons you're saying. I would have allowed Andrews and Ospreay to have a 5 star match and get people saying 'hey, there was a 5 * match in TNA', Meltzer was already a mark for the BOLA one, I'm sure he would have liked one here too.

All you need to build up Ospreay is a video package or two and a lot of excitement from Josh and Pope when they talk about him. I'm always of the opinion that if you are booking a match on your TV for the purpose of having an awesome match, then you should try your best to make it feel like a big deal, especially if you are using a relatively unknown guy. The X-Division has been mostly the same few guys getting title shots for almost two years now. Trevor Lee as champ helps it feel a bit more new, but it's still the same challengers. Lee vs. Ospreay with Ospreay being billed as a "top international contender" would not only be awesome, but would give you a bit of a break to start to do something with someone else to really set up the next contender well.

but if Ospreay is not staying, why not take advantage, use him to build up Mandrews, who is actually staying, and that way you have Mandrews ready for Lee once Lee is done with Uno

I'd rather use him to build up Trevor Lee. Lee IS done with Uno by his point. He lost the match, then lost his rematch. Ospreay could have been brought in as a ready-made challenger while you use this time to actually build up Mandrews well for a shot when they return to the US.
