I think that's a bit goofy don't you? That'd be like if in 1993 Vince was like, "Nah Jim Ross you're too Mid-South for us sorry."

There is a logic behind not wanting to be "too ECW" for ROH at that time because the whole point of ROH was to be the exact opposite of every other indy at that time (which were all trying to be ECW). That being said, I think having both Joey's name value and his ability would have outweighed the negatives. Joey could have been the same Joey Styles that people loved while calling the ROH style and making it work.
