not sure, but WrestleCon is high spots if i'm not mistaken, and I think high spots has always been cool with everyone, so maybe they were able to get permission. Do consider that at least Best Friends are 100% independent, they started in PWG and while they're now doing ROH dates, neither are signed in the US to anyone. Same with Golden Lovers to an extent since they were GL outside of NJPW, but i do see them getting the ok from Japan just in caseBig Red Machine wrote: ↑Feb 14th, '18, 10:49
So... does this mean that WrestleCon is working with ROH/NJPW & pals?
I was under the impression that Best Friends (or at least Trent) were ROH/NJPW exclusive (with the PWG exception) since autumn. Highspots has always been cool with everyone, but that has alway been because they haven't been running their own shows. I was also under the impression that top NJPW guys were pretty exclusive to ROH in the areas where ROH-exclusive contracts apply (the US and Ontario), and that would include Omega (for example, I don't think NJPW has worked with D'Amore for a few years, and ROH even ran with NJPW guys in D'Amore's "territory").cero2k wrote: ↑Feb 14th, '18, 11:16not sure, but WrestleCon is high spots if i'm not mistaken, and I think high spots has always been cool with everyone, so maybe they were able to get permission. no on that second part. Ospreay is doing EVOLVE during WM weekend. I think ROH needs to also secure their US contracts. Not a top talent, but Sabre too.Big Red Machine wrote: ↑Feb 14th, '18, 11:52

Sabre was already with EVOLVE before he started NJPW, though, and I thought Ospreay wasn't signed to anyone right now.cero2k wrote: ↑Feb 14th, '18, 12:15no on that second part. from what i understand, he had signed with ROH a one-year contract (along with Scurll) which recently expired. I could be wrong,Big Red Machine wrote: ↑Feb 14th, '18, 17:11

Yes. Meaning he isn't signed to anyone, and thus not beholden to any politics. He has even said that he's open to working the occasional ROH show as his schedule allows, and that working for WWN over Mania weekend was simply a money thing because WWN is the group that has the greatest number of shows.cero2k wrote: ↑Feb 14th, '18, 17:39from what i understand, he had signed with ROH a one-year contract (along with Scurll) which recently expired. Really? I thought he was working with them through ROH rather than it being a separate thing, and now he's just working with them on a more freelance basis like Zack does.cero2k wrote: ↑Feb 14th, '18, 21:58he's signed with NJPW thoBig Red Machine wrote: ↑Feb 14th, '18, 21:42

now you're making me doubt. Ospreay joined CHAOS in like march 2016, but he didn't sign with ROH until november, cuz i remember Ospreay vs KUSHIDA was for invasion attack and I think he signed immediately after with NJPWBig Red Machine wrote: ↑Feb 14th, '18, 22:09

he did say he was making a card of 'dream matches' and by dream i think he meant 'matches that not even in dreams make sense'Big Red Machine wrote: ↑Feb 20th, '18, 09:01
At this point I'm fully convinced that Joey Janela just randomly picks names out of a hat.
