Another match involving a returning wrestler is set for next month's Evolution pay-per-view.

WWE announced tonight that Lita will be facing Mickie James at Evolution. The only other matches that have been confirmed for the PPV are Trish Stratus vs. Alexa Bliss and the finals of the Mae Young Classic.

This will be Lita's second in-ring appearance of 2018. She last wrestled as a surprise entrant in the women's Royal Rumble match this January. She hasn't wrestled regularly since 2006, where she lost to James at Survivor Series in what was billed as her retirement match. She did wrestle one match for WWE in 2012 before returning at this year's Royal Rumble, defeating Heath Slater on the 1,000th episode of Raw.

Evolution will take place at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York on October 28. When the PPV was announced, WWE noted that over 50 wrestlers from the past and present would be taking part in the event.

I agree. Kind of feels like a waste of Mickie, too.

Both should have been used to put over someone active the way Trish is being used.

at least MJ is a regular and you can get to any match on any given point, but Lita is a one night only attraction at this point, it was a chance for the dream match, not the nostalgia match.

To further clarify-Bliss beats Rousey then Trish wins the title, because fuck it why wouldn't they do that? Lol.
