Conceptually I think this is something they should do more often. Interviewing fans on the street about controversies is commonplace in regular sports. And even if it is a work, WWE 's caricatures of what they think marks are (mom's, Southern people, fat nerds like the guy at the end) bring me great joy.
Totally. I'm an advocate of working as much as you can. The key is to not use people anyone would recognize. You can go back to some 1995 ECW "press conferences" with new champion Sandman and the people asking the questions are people like Gabe or Tod Gordon's employees at his pawn shop (other than J.T. Smith, obviously). It's also probably pretty fun for, like, the camera or production crew or wardrobe people to be able to get involved like that.
