A former TNA Wrestling duo was reunited in a dark match prior to last night's SmackDown in Brooklyn, New York.
Before SmackDown's post-WrestleMania episode got underway, Luke Harper defeated EC3 in a dark match. EC3 was accompanied by Drake Maverick, who was formerly known as Rockstar Spud in TNA. They were both allies and rivals together during their time in the promotion.
Dixie Carter tweeted about the pairing: "What a fantastic, 'original' idea!! Those two are [money] together.... @therealec3 @WWEMaverick #SDLive @wwe"
EC3 should officially be assigned to a brand in next week's Superstar Shakeup. Maverick is the on-screen general manager of 205 Live and managed AOP on Raw prior to Akam being out of action with a knee injury. Maverick has accompanied Rezar during matches on Main Event since then.
Kevin Owens defeated Sami Zayn in the dark match after last night's 205 Live. Pat Laprade wrote about the match: "Sami tried to convince Kevin not to fight him. It worked. But he then insulted him. So KO came back and said since both were off Mania, they should be ready for a match. KO did a stunner right off the bat for the quick win. He then did two more stunners, well, just for fun!"

Never imagined that in Owens v Zayn, that Owens would be the babyface...

Dude, if this music hit on a WWE show, I'd mark the fuck out.

As silly as it sounds, I'd get the same goose bumps I got when Bischoff came out on Raw for the first time...
Imagine the stable...
AJ, Lashley, Roode, Joe... throw Kurt Angle into the mix...
Hell, I'd settle for her to be the bank roll behind an EC3/Million Dollar Man-type push...
Creatively she brings a lot to the table! I didn't know I needed this!

No Dixie. We don't need Dixie. Why the F*ck would WWE hire Dixie Carter?

Why would that be a bad thing?
It's not like she'd actually have say over anything. Just as an on-screen talent, like Bischoff and Heyman.
Vince like's to parade the heads of his foes around the town square on a stick, and she's really the last one around that could minutely be considered such. He already has the roster, why not WWE vs TNA?

There would be no benefit. To either ex-TNA talent or WWE talent... because Vince will get a hard on for burying the TNA talent ahead of the WWE talent and then no-one gets over. In my opinion it wouldn't draw any tickets, it wouldn't draw any fans and it would be a pointless endeavour..

This.
Ethan's character also automatically becomes a loser if they bring Dixie in. Their dynamic worked in a promotion where Dixie was the promoter. In a promotion where she is a failed former promoter, her presence would only serve to drag Ethan down.

the error would be in making a tna vs wwe thing. if she came in, it should just be a rich nashville woman and her nephew. don't portray her as a failed promoter

But we already know Ethan is rich. The only thing Dixie brings to the character is the TNA aspect of it.

I don't think it's been said on the main roster, but we've also never been given a reason to indicate that someone's main roster character is anything but a continuation of their NXT character other than The Shield, who were (if I remember correctly) the very first NXT call-ups.
