Update on CassXL & nZo and ROH

Enzo & Cass were not at either ROH show this weekend, nor are they booked on anything announced going forward. They have been given no future dates and right now are not factored into anything. There were key people very upset with that segment internally and as noted before, internal divisiveness whether to do it and it brought negative attention in terms of reaction. The idea of why was explained last week, but not everyone bought that. The original idea was to do a very quick bit that would take place in the corner by the guard rails. Enzo was to grab Mark Briscoe and Mark was to shove Enzo and that would be it. It would be so quick so as not to sound the alarms. People on TV may or may not see it, but people would hear about it. I guess the idea, since Enzo did interrupt a WWE show legit, was to play off that. Security was to then take Enzo away to make it look real. The idea is that if there was a buzz, maybe they’d follow up, but if nobody cared, it was so short that people would just assume it was real. It got out of control and right now there are no plans to bring them back, but there are also different people with different viewpoints involved with creative and it’s not clear how the wind will blow.

It got no buzz, because everyone realised straight off that it was a work.
Security did nothing which means they were briefed on it... and nobody wants to see them. They're not a draw. Best to pull the plug!

it got buzz, just the wrong one, especially when a real life situation happened minutes before. I wonder if ROH had done it normally with them coming out to the ramp and cut a promo, would it had been better received, with heat, but the good type of heat

No. It'd still be dumped on. At least this gave them some plausible deniability from a kayfabe POV if they decide to not to go with it.

The fact that Enzo and Cass were together blew it for me. Cass actively disavowed Enzo after the allegations hit, and while I think Cass has some potential (not with the name 'CassXL' though, fucking Christ) I never want to see Enzo again

i always felt that as soon as Cass got fired, they both got together again patting each on each other's backs for being victims of WWE.

I disagree. I think you're underestimating Enzo on the mic. He's a shit human being, and he'd have to work things over to the right kind of heat, but I think if given the chance he's good enough to pull it off. Might be for that other topic, but I was quite looking forward to them getting fed to The Briscoes... wasn't much for the MSG incident, but along with what Cero said, as a fan I would have gotten over it once things got rolling in a more conventional way. I'd much rather see that build up for a few months than Briscoes vs GOD again... haven't had a good Briscoes vs WWE thing in a while...

Cass would have easily explained away by saying "they made me say it" and WWE is the bad guy
