This was another great WWWF angle. Zbyszko was Bruno's protege, and had been for a long time. He felt like he was constantly in Bruno's shadow and felt that no one took him seriously on his own.
So, he challenged Sammartino to a match.
Great heel turn that would be talked about for years, decades even. The WWWF/WWF was great at starting feuds.
