Bobby Heenan's legendary call of "The Clown is Down" when he was eliminated in the Wrestlemania 17 Gimmick Battle Royale was an inside joke. Apparently Doink was attacked by fans in a dark segment before his debut where he went out and did clown things for the fan. Tony Garea brought this to everyone's attention in Gorilla by announcing, "The Clown is Down"
