It's confirmed, I will be training to be a professional wrestler at APW Boot Camp in nearby Hayward. Class starts in July.
We'll see what comes of it.

Sassafras is a trainee too?Chris Everlast wrote:Sassafras?Lynas wrote:We've never seen eye to eye kid, but you have a HUGE opportunity. Good luck man. You'd better keep the guys and girls of WR updated... you would be our first trainee wrestler I believe?
Good luck, Kirby! Don't forget about us when you're smashing heads in the big leagues, kay?
I'm pretty sure he's training to be a wrestler, yeah. Or even wrestling right now, I have no idea.Lynas wrote:Sassafras is a trainee too?Chris Everlast wrote:Sassafras?Lynas wrote:We've never seen eye to eye kid, but you have a HUGE opportunity. Does WPW_Champ count? He hasn't been around much since OWW, but he is around occasionally.Chris Everlast wrote:Sassafras?Lynas wrote:We've never seen eye to eye kid, but you have a HUGE opportunity. Regardless the circumstances, there will always be a fair amount of respect for you. From what I understand, Sassafras is also in training to go pro, as well.Lynas wrote:We've never seen eye to eye kid, but you have a HUGE opportunity. Good luck man. It will be my pleasure to help revive the old-school style of technical grappling. That would make me proud.Rabid619 wrote:Good luck Kirby do us and most importantly yourself proud.
Give me (us?) a break! We're going to be PROFESSIONAL WRESTLERS! Not "sports-entertainers"Rabid619 wrote:I see it now, the unbeatable team of Sassafras & Kirby!!! Dont let Orton or Cena squash you guys.
Hey what's wrong with a bit of exposure right? Lol.kirbs2002 wrote:Give me (us?) a break! We're going to be PROFESSIONAL WRESTLERS! Not "sports-entertainers"Rabid619 wrote:I see it now, the unbeatable team of Sassafras & Kirby!!! Dont let Orton or Cena squash you guys.
That's not to say that I won't rule out having a peek at WWE, if the time is right.
I may like travelling, but 300+ days out of the year would make me more psycho (if that's possible)Lynas wrote:Hey what's wrong with a bit of exposure right? Your brawling, submissions, and Krav Maga versus my speed, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, and some Marine Corps Martial Arts (adopted from my brother)... Sounds fun.Sassafras wrote:Wow. Glad I saw this. Yes, I'm in training. Early 2012 debut, if all goes well.![]()
I'd be honored to work with Kirby someday. A solid 60-minute match with a technical wrestler less than half my size would be fun. To see those conflicting styles would be pretty awesome. Grappling/technicality vs. brawling/submission/Krav Maga. Get on it, Kirbs. First one to a World title wins.
