WINNER BECOMES #1 CONTENDER TO THE TNA X-DIVISION TITLE: Zema Ion vs. Jesse Sorensen- 3.75/10. Good character-work by Ion. Apparently Sorensen’s injury is legit, so you can’t fault them for the time.

TNA TV TITLE MATCH: Robbie E.(c) (w/Rob Terry) vs. Shannon Moore- 6.25/10

TNA KNOCKOUTS’ TITLE MATCH: Gail Kim(c) (w/Madison Rayne) vs. Tara- 6/10

JAMES STORM PROMO- pretty good

TNA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Matt Morgan & Crimson(c) vs. Samoa Joe & Magnus- 5.25/10

BULLY RAY PROMO- Great

TNA X-DIVISION TITLE MATCH: Austin Aries(c) vs. Alex Shelley- 8.5/10 AWESOME!

AJ STYLES vs. KAZARIAN (w/Christopher Daniels)- 7.25/10

ERIC BISCHOFF PROMO- bad. Bischoff’s douche bag heel only works if people give a damn about the babyface. Gunner’s promo was good, though.

GUNNER (w/Eric Bischoff) vs. GARRETT BISCHOFF (w/Hulk Hogan)- 5/10. The match wasn’t too exciting, but that was by design. We got some perfect storytelling here, though. This marks the first time that anything involved in this feud has been good.

STING PROMO- eh

TNA WORLD TITLE MATCH WITH STING AS THE SPECIAL GUEST ENFORCER: Bobby Roode(c) vs. Bully Ray vs. Jeff Hardy vs. James Storm-6.75/10. The main event of Summer Slam 97 called. It wants its finish back. Almost good enough to be a main event, but not quite there yet.

Overall, a pretty good show from TNA.

you didn't think the Tag match was better than the TV title match or the KO's match? I thought that tag match was pretty solid; both teams worked together better than I expected.

I just wasn't into it, and I didn't think the story matched up well with the way things have been booked overall. Crimson is supposed to be an undefeated monster. He shouldn't be playing the babyface in peril.

I liked the main event up until the whole sequence with the ref bumps. It looked like it was going to be a solid match all the way though (in my opinion), but that whole garbage with Sting and Roode and Jeff completely crapped all over the match for me.

Didn't like it here, or didn't like the concept? The same exact finish (except with a chair, instead) with Shawn, Bret, and Taker at Summer Slam is one of my favorite finishes of all time.

Didn't like it here. It didn't feel natural to me in this case, it felt forced. The rest of the match was going pretty smoothly for me (as much as a fatal four way can be smooth), until that.

Not trying to beat a dead horse, but I just watching Bret vs. Taker from Royal Rumble 1996, and in doing so, obviously I thought about their match from Summer Slam 1997 (where TNA stole the finish for the main event from), and I keep asking myself "why did Sting have to make the count?" At Summer Slam, Shawn had to make the count because of the stip that, if he didn't call things fairly, he would never be allowed to wrestle again. Sting was under no such restrictions here. Sting was there to ensure that things went down fairly. The finish to that match certainly wasn't fair. So why did Sting make the count?

Exactly. The more I think about it, the more I am afraid that what they are going to do is have Sting feel personally responsible for everything, and (based off of my feeling's so far about this week's Impact, which I am almost done watching), they might have Sting wind up taking the belt from Roode.
